Tickets
Got mezz tickets as well. I was also on at 1000. Tickets for Book of Longing e-mailed to me and I have them already printed out. Others to pick up in Toronto friday afternoon.
I did not try for other shows as there is quite a bit of interesting 'free' events going on over the weekend that we want to try to take in - Distillery District events; L'Art Boat; Opening of the new ROM (Royal Ontario Museum); MUHTADI INTERNATIONAL DRUMMING FESTIVAL at Queens park; SPIEGELTENT'NTAVERN – FREE EVENTS at Harbourfront; and of course LEONARD COHEN'S DRAWN TO WORDS at the Drabinsky Gallery on mondsy - and whatever else we can get in and the Library tour.
Looks to be a full weekend.
Oh, and our mini LC night!!!

Well, I got mine, too... I'm with you on the $25 seats, John... and I'm no banker. I didn't book from home, as I was nowhere near here, at 11:00 ~ soonest I could get to a library computer. The computer library had a 15-minute time limit... and then the bookings themselves had a 2-minute and 3-minute time limit, respectively. So, there we are in the Balcony-C[?], Row N, Seats 206-205. On this one, for Book of Longing, I noticed something about "Subject to a 2 business day waiting period . . . " ~ and in the moment interpreted that as being prior to the Event... not at this moment.
SO... these tickets are set to be mailed ~ "no later than 5 business days prior to your event"
. The impact of this hit me once it was too late
. I fly out in the early morning of Tuesday, the 29th... and Monday, the 28th is a holiday... so I'm praying these tickets are here by Saturday, the 26th... or I'm dead meat. I hope they don't consider Monday as a regular business day... and will mail them in plenty of time to get to me the previous week.
Does anyone know if there's a way to contact Ticketmaster and switch it to window pick-up?
SO... the second Event... for their conversation, I have a pick-up at window. Wish to heck I'd just done that for the first one!
Congratulations, Dick, on your best seats available... and everyone else who got the better seats. The leap between the two prices was just too great for me to negotiate, when I already have too many other non-negotiable costs stacked up.
At least I'm going... that's what I care about most... and I have NO doubt that the sound system will have Leonard's voice filling the auditorium
.
Okay... this is good. Got hold of Ticketmaster.ca and they've switched my tickets to pick-up at the theatre. WHEW! One less thing to wonder about.

Seating
If you consider that the Elgin seats only about 1500 and The wintergarden only 992, I don't think there's much chance of having a bad seat for either event.
I was wondering why some of you from USA did not pick out the ticket delivery method where it is emailed to you. The charge is only $1.75 and you receive it instantaneously - you just have to print it out. That's what I did.

I didn't see it, Vern... or I would have. Oh well. The computer kept popping up a small screen telling me how many minutes I had left... and I had zinged straight to Leonard's name, so booked the Book of Longing event last and it had a total of 2 minutes limit to do it... lest I lose that attempt to book it and my place in line along with it. Oh well. What's done is done. At least I don't need to worry about something happening to my ticket in the interim.
John ~ My friend may be perusing the galleries whilst I'm sitting in line with you. She's not sure, yet, whether she wants to go to the conversation... so I may end up with a spare ticket; had to get it, though, as I hadn't been able to talk with her first. I feel more inclined to get into line early, too.
We'll see. All I care is that I'm going. That's great news on the venue's size, Vern.

Hi folks,
Confirmed for Mezz-C-expensive tickets-I probably wouldn't have picked this but was worried about getting in.
Also going to "Not The Messiah" on Saturday night and daughter Kate and son-in-law, Jeremiah, attending as well. They are going to BoL on Sunday night as they can't arrive until late on Friday.
Have conversation tickets, but had to order twice because of the two/household limit and trying to explain through ticketmaster was impossible. Hopefully Kate can get them herself since mine will probably be cancelled.
What a weekend it should be!

I'm feeling quite green with envy at all these events and me so far away
Also sorry to have to miss meeting so many of you.
Will try to console myself with the forthcoming week in Hydra early June and the possibility that Anjani, with or without her introducer, will appear at the Festival in Ireland in July.

I was able to get tickets for BL, 6/1 Conversation 6/2 and NT Messiah
6/2.
I'll line up at dawn to for the Conversation if I have to!:-))
I'm disappointed that I won't be in Toronto long enough to be able to see
An Evening With Glen Gould and does anyone know where Irving Invectus is playing?
