Bemused and amused, eh? Whilst you danced transfused with each other, that's what counted most, as you've noted! Lovely story. Thanks for sharing it with us. Definitely greater than the sum of its parts. Can't recall the "mathematical" term for that at the moment. Long?

The way I discovered all the best music I know - through my mum.
She was interested in him, so I bought her a tape for her birthday, not knowing who the hell it is anyway. The first song on the tape was Suzanne. The rest is history.

Hi Alexandra ~

Thanks. Did your mum discover Leonard fairly recently, as well? The tape sounds like it could be a recording of his first album.

It might also be "Greaest Hits" (or "Best of" as I think it is called in North America), which also begins with Suzanne, I think. Still a few years old now, though.

My mum was interested in him out of what she's heard of him for a long time, but she discovered the music along with me. The tape was Greatest Hits.

Elizabeth, is the 'mathematical' term you were looking for in fact, 'synergy'? :)

Dear Byron ~ That's it :D !!! Thank you :D ! Hmmm.....doesn't seem to be mathematical though, does it  ? Almost a spiritual term.

Rhodes and Alexandra ~ OK, you're right, of course! I just have such a strong association with his first album that I couldn't get past it  . What a nice discovery to share with your mum, Alexandra :D .

I know! :D When I was done listeneing to Suzanne I realised suddenly I was practically drifting away on the wings of Leonard's amazing voice. I think I haven't moved during the entire song... to say nothing of breathing...

i have to say a big "thank you!" to my best friend Greta, because she is the one who "showed me the way" to Leonard`s music ...she is a big fan of Cohen and she really wanted me to listen to some of his songs. At first i thought that she hast gone crazy-listening to some old man,,,but now i feel the other way round- he is not just "some old man" ,he is Leonard Cohen, the best ever male singer ! his voice is so powerful and all his songs include a lot of advices for life ...i just love the way he shows simple things so important....

I'd like to thank Greta, too, for showing you the way.
