Actually Lizzy, I should be apologising for this ASSenine topic. We are scraping the BOTTOM of the barrel with this (that is my ASSessment)

What a BUMmer.

I am busy today. My Aunt FANNY is coming to tea, so I have scones to BUTTer.

Then I'm going to the football to watch ARSEnal play

Thanks for the challenge Lizzy, I love a challange
(sorry to all the Brits reading this thread - Fanny has a totally different meaning in the UK  )

I just looked in my dictionary and you've used up all the options Ali .
Fanny has a totally different meaning in the UK
Oh-O, time to change the subject:

Since you suggested a quiz, I was I wondering who might volunteer to compose one. Have I seen Paula enthusing about quizzes more than once on this site? Paula? Or anyone else? (I am crap at quizzes, devising and answering, so I wouldn't volunteer to do this.)

I was trawling through the Gloucester Meet-Up thread, and got the idea for quizzes from there, also I think people brought guitars - that was a nice touch :) I hope the same happens in Bristol, an impromptu jam session is always good 8)

I don't think we'll be sitting around twiddling our thumbs, Ali. I think it's gonna be quite a night 8) .

Well Diane, the first thing on our agenda could be a 'thumb twiddling contest'   (after the silly walk entry)

John The Shorts, Hang it all, I wish to be advised (after reading your recent posts) Will you be bringing your Duck to the Meet-Up :?: And if so does it have any dietry requirements :?:
Perhaps some nice orange sauce on a bed of wild rice

Hi, Ali, I have a double-jointed thumb, and people would not appreciate having to watch me twiddle it. I'll be judge. Please don't kill John's duck, it can enter the silly walk contest.

Must dash,

Diane

At the moment I will be attending alone (Heh but theres still 9-10 weeks so who knows I may get lucky in the meantime  ) Having had no response from Jezza, Eryl or Paul.

Am I the onlyone on this site old enough to remember toilet Ducks?

Never mind following the silly walk I can burst into "the great alfonso and his performing duck" sketch

JTS, The memory I have of toilet duck, is Father Jack Hackett hallucinating after drinking a bottle of it on the brilliantly funny Father Ted

Please, please dont put any in the Red Needles

I will put you on the open mic agenda to perform above sketch

This gathering is not suffering from lack of planning  .

I remember when Phil met me in the London Gatwick airport, and we sat down for coffee first [my long-prior request]. In talking, I mentioned having brought my fanny pack. Her startled eyes got huge, and she hushed me with, "Elizabeth! You can't say that here  :o !" [Oooooo ~ whoops :) ]

Thank you, Ali, for the Mmmm, lovely display  of "Arse"isms  .
