I shall never forget it!
Lisa,
We'll remember you too. Thanks for your detailed report it takes me right back. These few days are unforgetable in every way. I doubt if the polkadot scarf will keep you warm in Edmunton but I 'm sure the memories will.
You mentioned in your report that beautiful moment that Leonard sang the last line of the chorus of "Passing Through" with the fans. That was so moving. There was another moment in the Tower of song that touched me and seems to give hope to all of those who wish for another tour. Just as Leonard sings 'So I bid you farewell..... you'll be hearing from me baby long after I'm gone.....". He first lifts up his right hand to wave goodbye to us and then puts his hand over his heart as maybe a promise that we will be hearing from him. This moment is very clear on Alberts video:

On the Friday night I was struck by how heartfelt Leonard thanked his backing singers ate the end of the Tower of song.

While we didn’t actually set eyes on him then once the driver exited the building I shouted at him to know had he just dropped off Leonard Cohen to which he confirmed he did. We kept looking and wishing for most of Friday and after both concerts on the Friday and Saturday night.
Having discovered the tower block in which the band and crew were staying after the concert on Saturday and while we didn’t meet Leonard then in which I’m pleased as I don’t think a casino is an adequate location to meet Leonard.
....Having all arrived nice and early Sunday morning Doug discovered where a lot of the crew were waiting so we gathered there to wait. We didn’t have long until Leonard exited the building ....
No offence, but I'd call this almost stalking. Running into someone in the street by chance is one thing, but I'd never do that regardless of how much I'd like to meet someone.

I see your point but I tried to be as respectful as I could when we did meet and Leonard obviously felt that too or he wouldn't have walked back to us. My photos after he walked away are deceptive as I was using the zoom on my camera which is 18x optical. We stayed well back. I don't think what we did was that offensive but different people different opinions.

Gwen you are perfectly right.Opportunities like this only come once and if you dont seize the moment SOMEONE else will.
I think it actually shows true respect for the genius of Leonard Cohen and I guess he was charmed .
Thanks again for the wonderful stoey here

Ah, thanks, Eva, Mikeaus, musicmania, and my friend Tineke, for your kind responses! It was a pleasure to write about at least some of what I remember vividly about those two fabulous concerts, and I'm glad that my words resonated with you!
And Tineke, while the lovely scarf is not quite up to the job at the moment, it will be around my neck when it warms up a bit (perhaps by April...). It will always bring back such fond memories of our great conversation, and the wonderful time we had in Las Vegas.
Cheers!
Lisa

Sadly mm your action could only be described as stalking, Leonard gives us his all from the stage, if you meet him accidently and request a photo or autograph that is fine and respectful but to track his movments off stage takes from his privacy, besides your account of "meeting" him should not be posted in the concert review section, just my opinion.

I think "stalking" is much too harsh a word. Stalking is a menacing activity, and this is perfectly harmless fan behavior that any musician expects (and is often glad) to experience when they're on a tour.

Lisa and Gwen - you gave us such thoughtful, eloquent, and touching reviews - you've put into words things that are in my heart, but I can't express as well as you two have - thank you very much.
Gwen - I am thrilled that you got to meet him and a few others. Your approach to him was faultless. This is evidenced by the fact that after your moment with him, he then turned around and came back to you! Don't let anyone take any part of that special moment from you with their words.
Warmest regards,
Mary

Below is a link to Leonard introducing and thanking the Band for the last time. I love the look shared between Javier and leonard as he is introduced. The audience rise to thier feet to express their gratitude also. Leonard goes on to thank the fans before and overzealous fan rushes the stage....

Gwen,
I just wanted to add my hearty congratulations on your meeting Leonard! I was the other fan there on Sunday morning as they were leaving. I was out for a walk (hoping I might run into him!) and saw your group at the back door with him. I didn't want to intrude on your moment, so waited until he was walking out to the buses and asked if he had a moment. He said "walk with me", so I did! I wish I'd had your presence of mind - I could barely speak and though I got a few photos with him, I completely forgot to ask him to sign the book that I've been carting around to 5 concerts! Nevertheless, it was a wonderful moment. I thought your approach was very respectful and I appreciate you allowing me to have my few moments alone with him as well. He seemed to be very relaxed, full of those charming smiles and kind words, and very appreciative of our thanks. In fact, I said to him that I hoped my speaking to him wasn't an intrusion and he smiled and said, "Why would it be?" Gracious in every way. I am truly so happy for you. Best wishes!
