It's so gratifying that Leonard is finally getting the accolades piled upon accolades that he has so long deserved. And good to know that the 2009 leg of his tour bagged $21million.

I was happy to see Laura Nyro on the list also. She was another "unsung hero" so to speak, among songwriters, like Leonard. For the longest time, it seemed everybody had heard her songs, but nobody had ever heard of her. And like Leonard, too, I had usually preferred her own versions of her songs, far better than the overwrought and overproduced pop renditions of various cover artists...Listen to her own version of "One" on Eli and the Thirteenth Confession, just Laura and a piano, sighing, "two can be as bad as one, it's the loneliest number since the number one..." It'll break your heart. You've already heard the 3 Dog Night/ Phil Spector version.

I love that little interview with Leonard! "Overwhelmed" and "pretty well dismantled" descibe my feelings whenever Leonard performs or speaks. He blows me away every time, with his charm and demeanour.

Sorry, I can't help with The Pulitzer, The Nobel, or Knighthood. We'll have to just wait and see what happens in those cases. I read somewhere on this forum a few years ago that Leonard Cohen had been informed that Prince Charles had suggested knighthood for Cohen, and Cohen shyed away from it. Also a Canadian journalist had written in to get the Nobel Prize for Cohen. Cohen didn't like that either. What was that line that Leonard used? "The poetry forbids it." Information on the Pulitzer is in the LEONARD COHEN | HALLS OF FAME thread.

I saw that.

Those are fantastic photos, Roy. Thanks very much for posting, and to everyone else for all the updates.

Random thought: Taylor Swift is one tall and lucky young lady.

If KD can go barefoot then Leonard can wear anything he wants. Besides I think the hat adds to his "dapperness"!

I just would have preferred pictures of his whole head, just like the Rock Hall and Canadian Song Hall ceremonies. Not a big deal. He was the only one wearing a hat by the way at the 2010 Song Hall.
