Fire and Ice is an anagram for I've got a bloody big wooden spoon and I'm going to stir everyone up as much as possible and be a complete pain the a.. for those sensitive types who trawl this forum and should get out more and my mummy says I've got to go to bed now, so there!!!
Or I might be completely wrong?

Careful there, you nearly went onto a second line.
And I'm always completely wrong
I know my place
And I'm always completely wrong
I know my place

Not to revive another one of the "Great Threads" I post to this one, but Jo, you directed my attention to it.
It has been an interesting experience to thumb through these pages, and there might be a point to what you said, Jo. (About 25% of those who voted here seem to have a problem with strong and highly opiniated women...)
What bothered me most, however, was the narrow-minded position taken by some that - without explicitly using this word - Poetry should be censored. Awful nonsense, I say.
The "standards of what is good poetry", "hammered out over the centuries"... I don't remember who said that, and I probably misquote, but this person should remember: those standards result from the ongoinging violation of what had been the standards before. They are but the sum of prejudice a critic has acquired when he comes of age.
By the way: I didn't vote. I never vote in incomplete choices. It might be an obsolete position, but I still believe that in discussion, especially in controversial discussion, lies the via regia of approaching the truth. It might be even more obsolete to think there's still a need for truth, and not only for good PR, for enough media coverage, for colored TV presenting black-and-white views. So mabe I am out of date.
That's why I post. And that's why I can't vote in this poll.
May this psychanalytical stillborn rest in peace now.
Tom

Sorry (again) folks
But just to get back to the purpose of the thread:
JTS (Sorry lizzy it may make me a male sychophant but all of the above but F)
[Question does that make me G? Sometimes it's not easy being a Tom Waits fan on an LC forum!]
But just to get back to the purpose of the thread:
How do you vote if all of the above apply?A. To obtain information about Leonard Cohen and his music
B. To communicate with others of like mind
C. No one else will read my poetry
D. I desperately hope that Leonard reads the Forum and will be transfixed by my thoughts
E. I would like to become best friends with Leonard
F. To annoy Lizzytysh
G. Because I'm just plain nuts!
