Midnight Whiskey
I run to my beloved ruins
divinely intoxicated
to announce my sentient interest
in midnight whiskey and sleaze
and things I’m not supposed to fondle
His mouth plunges against mine
to openings and uvula sliding
a tongue toward profundity
toward feet and heaven
salvation by salivation
fluent in holy intercourse
convincing my body
that God is not far off
Midnight Whiskey
Midnight Whiskey

A sensuous romp. Well written throughout.

Thanks, Chris.
This has been a fun one to write. I originally springboarded from something a friend of mine wrote. It was more than a little plagiaristic at first, but I think I've edited it far enough away from what she wrote to call it my own now. Hers was about money.
I think this may be the poem that's taken the longest for me to write, and you can see I just made another edit to it.

Manna,
A poem that comes to an interesting climax.
