I love to speak with John

I like the humour in your merging of the literal with the figurative.I'll replace my glasses
Go to the doctor and get a new prescription
I'll improve my eyesight
When I see things better
I can give a clearer description.
I like your line that "The dust covers the dust jacket," too.
This one has a feeling of 'oldness' and life having slipped by to the extent that one can barely identify its nature anymore. It's very evocative and feels sad in that way and creates the feeling that he's wondering if he's the next to be discarded.
