Whenever I finish a poem
Liza rips off my clothes
while I rip off hers
and we celebrate
like sexual gluttons.
I am becoming famous
as the author of short verse
and Liza has no complaints
apart from sewing
back all the buttons.
Whenever I finish a poem

In its humour and its content, it's also very Leonardesque... or should I just leave it at Geoffreyesque

Write on, Geoffrey...
Rip on, Liza...
Rip right on back, Geoffrey...

Liza ~ I have an extra needle and thread, if you ever need them.
Love to you, both,
Lizzy

Let's just call it 'One of Geoffrey's Gems!' - Ha ha ha!!! But seriously, with Leonard as teacher, it's hard to be serious. In one song ('Smokey Life') he sings something about 'let's keep it light' - and I always interpreted that as having more to do with humour than colour. Thank you for pinning this message onto the inside of my computer screen - I love the wizardry of this modern world.

Manna asked:
>are you a member of any sites that focus more directly on poultry, er, poetry?
Well, I am always a little wary of focusing on things that focus on things. It reminds me of the time I concentrated on the scalp of a lady as she blew a silent tune on the old meat flute. When I mentioned that her blonde hair seemed to have black roots - and that she had just a touch of dandruff - she actually bit me.

Who wants to be in any way an imitation?
[now that is flattery ~ well, maybe a twiiiinge of something else in there, too
]. Seriously, now, thanks. Glad you liked it, and found it there, in that it really was sincere.
Love,
Lizzy

"One of Geoffrey's Gems" ~ A decent, second-place choice... or, maybe, that should be the reverse.>In its humour and its content, it's also very Leonardesque... or should I just leave it at Geoffreyesque.

Ah! I've hit the big-time...Thank you for pinning this message onto the inside of my computer screen . . .

Re: poetry sites
I frequent one, used to be a member of another, and have a handful of friends that I just learned have been using another one. The downside of these sites is that the poetry becomes poetry-by-committee, which barely counts as poetry at all, now does it? So I can understand your wariness for these things. But I do like a writing class now and zen.
You know, I've heard that the human bite is more poisonous and likely to become infected than many snake bites. Yeeks. Hope yours wasn't so bad. Did she break the skin? (Sorry, can't help it, I'm a scab-picker.)
