The Object of My Desire
The Object of My Desire
Here is another one I wrote a couple of years ago.
Sherry
The Object of My Desire
How I long, when we're apart,
to hold your hard sensuous body
close to mine, to caress
your smooth, cool skin and feel
my fingers gently wrapping
around your long stately neck.
How I love your rich shades
of gold and brown and the musk-like
scent I find when I am
very near to you. How you charm
me with your latin temperament.
Do you recall, like I do,
our first days together,
many years ago?
You evoke in me precious memories
of my youth; images of innocence;
visions of the young girl I was
as we played, hour after hour,
my long silken hair falling gently
over my shoulders and resting against you.
Although we've travelled many places
together since those sweet early days
we did let others come between us
and I can't tell you how painful and lonely
were the years I spent merely
dreaming about you. Now,
although I no longer have
the freshness of youth,
you have remained unchanged.
Can you imagine with what joy
I greet this second chance
you have given me to relive
our early love-filled days together?
Can you feel the contentment
that I feel when, together,
we move in perfect harmony,
as rhythmic sounds of alternating tones
echo through our bodies and float
melodically in the air?
I want you to know that
no matter who else should come
into my life, you will always be
my one and only guitar!

Thanks Lizzy!
No, I have never serenaded a snake - but, hmmm, maybe that's
not such a bad idea.
One time when I was lost in playing my guitar, I looked down at
my feet and there was a swarm of ants circling around them!
You can imagine how that got me dancing!
Sherry
P.S. For some odd reason, I can only play classical music.

Ah!! And she complains!?! ONly classical music? Poor dear...
Hey... some sound like the Queen Bee and others the Queen Ant... at least you had a loyal and diligent following. Had they been carpenter ants, you might have enlisted them for a bit... just enough to humble those chords out of the classics and into a bit of contemporary. A hole here, a hole there... a whole different sound

Love,
Lizzy
Laughing Well, get with Mat... he can acquaint you with the perfectly lovely snake for your occasion Wink
snakey survival
I'm basically friendly,
but :
If you back me into a corner
with intent to restrict my flight
I'll shed my patient, non-aggressive skin
and BITE!

Survival not an issue; snakes don't fly; restrict!?!; and no need to BITE! Patience is as patience does. Winking after snakey aggression not understood at all. It seems a skewed filter has been provided you. Listen to your heart not others. Or was this simply a cute ditty to go with Sherry's theme? Mixed metaphors and mixed messages.

Sherry,I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed your poem. The twist was completely unexpected for me, which, of course, makes it so clever and enjoyable.
Here was I believing you had made up with your wayward man!
My little addidtion, "snakey survival" I wrote about 20 years ago and as Lizzy was referring to my " snake" I remembered the only poem I think I wrote about a snake and therefore posted it.
It is great how the brain just pops things up again.
Anyway I will meditate on your hand around that "long stately" ???
Oh yes! Neck!
Ha! Ha! I love it! regards, Matj

Oh, Mat... wasn't that you who wrote about the lying on your arm to warm herself and then once her needs were met, slinking away, as snakes so often do, etc.!?! If not you, who DID write that? I referred her to the wrong, poem person
.
" . . . long, stately . . . " ~ did I miss this because I not be a guy
? Or, simply because I missed it... a funny one

I remember the poem
I think it was one of the James', but I can't remember which one. Maybe JiminyC?
No doubt the owner will own up!........Matj
