My, my, Laurie ~ You really had to stretch for that one; but hey, when you're on a mission, you're on a mission.

FYI ~ I don't have seniority, and I don't have entitlement here. I get some agreement; I get a lot of disagreement. That happens when you express yourself and take stands. It "comes with the territory," no matter where that territory happens to be.

I would certainly be a well-paid "INVESTIGATOR" if all I had to do was click on "Profile" to be sure I get it right after someone's slammed me. Simply because you have talked about something privately that was already in your Profile, and that you have also mentioned in a posting, does not constitute a violation of anything, much less confidence. If you think copying-and-pasting your Profile is a reflection of the status of my "compassion" and "true colors" ~ you're using some strange criteria for that, but as I said, a mission is a mission.

I've had people use what I've written in my Profile against me in the past. It's there for public consumption, and I certainly didn't wail when they referenced it.

But, if that's what you consider sinking to a new low, well......don't know what to tell you. I'm wondering why you put it there. You had the option of not even filling it out.

Regarding my claws, I've already said that I do know how to be sarcastic when it's necessary. When you insult and disparage me, you can rely on at least the possibility that you may get some of it back. It depends. Sometimes, I'll just let it pass. Other times, I'll respond in my own way.

Is it this hard for you to recoup from embarrassment?

How much mileage do you hope to get from this, I wonder. You've milked it about bone dry.

Oooooo. I was [possibly, maybe yes, maybe no] "rude"[?] to a customer. After many years of working in restaurants, in all varieties of restaurants, I've never even been spoken to ~ much less fired ~ for being rude or inappropriate with a customer. To the contrary, both I and my employers have received numerous accolades as to my manner with customers.

So, now, here we are. 2005. Hurricane Katrina. Emotions running high in this country. If you don't think so, start reading some articles and listening to radio/TV/people around you. I reacted to what a customer said she 'wanted' to do. I expressed my opinion on giving money to agencies vs. doing nothing [perhaps a volatile way of expressing that thought]; however, she had just made a big deal in conversation with me, of preferring to do something than to give money. I ended up giving her a concrete suggestion on a way she could help, more in accordance with what her criteria was. Her husband was just sitting there, saying nothing.

Well, at this point, I guess we could contrast this with how much worse my behaviour could have been had I followed her outside and mugged her to get money to give to Red Cross. Yes, extreme, however , in the scheme of things, what happened was not that bad, particularly considering the extent you're wanting to take it.

As irrelevant as the fact that I was not fired is, even moreso, the fact that I don't work for the people here who say they would have fired me. More relevant is the fact that I am working for someone else, and this customer had the opportunity and right to complain about me ~ and didn't.

P.S. I'm guessing you must judge civil disobedience by whether or not they got arrested, too.

"Digging" ? ~ You just don't give up, do you? People check out and refer to Profiles all the time here. That's why that section exists. It just worked to your disadvantage this time, revealing that I was not doing something you were accusing me of. In fact ~ actual fact ~ the reason I copied-and-pasted it, in its entirety, was so it would be absolutely clear and unquestionable that that's exactly what you had written yourself. Why? Because anyone can change the content of their Profile at any time. Why would that thought even occur to me? Well , you know when you're an "INVESTIGATOR," the ability to think ahead is an asset .

Well, the fact that you're not embarrassed about trying to flog me with inaccurate accusations, regarding information you've publicly provided ~ and that Partisan has, as well ~ speaks to much more, Laurie. In fact, when it comes to agendas, it takes yours well out of hiding.

Speaking strongly and ranting are two, different animals. In fact, "ranting" would much better apply to what you're doing, regarding me, personally.

Lizzytish- not only you should've been fired from you table bussing job, even more-from your government job, paid by Florida taxpayers. You have used and abused that money long enough, sitting on LC Forum all day long, using government computer, because you have nothing else to do at your job, just like those lousy government workers at NO. Your lazy ass should be fired as soon as possible, so perhaps you can start doing something for charity as a volunteer.
To ridicule Laurie's job-it does not show your sarcasm, that just shows your nastiness. Laurie can peacefully do her data entry and work on her poetry, which is beautiful, while you are bussing tables and harassing customers.
One can use a vulgar language, still expressing love and depth, as an LC fan you should've known that, but of course, I don't expect that from you. Obviously, you have no experience of being in artzy or intellectual circles. You can use as many pretty, nice, syrupy words and those shallow "insights" of yours-it still will not bring any thought or depth to your written diarrhea of words.
You have hijacked this forum for a long, long time.
The only reason you are playing that communist-socialist anti-American liberal bride to some of the forum members is-you are afraid of them, because they don't give a damn. But you need them, so you can manipulate the climate on this forum as much as possible to your advantage. I see you, Lizzytish, the smiles can't hide it.

You can have your opinion and I can have mine. Laurie started something that she wasn't prepared to finish, amping up the insults as she went. If she has your sympathy, fine. She doesn't happen to have mine. Perhaps, I should accuse you of being in love with her, as you did me regarding Demetris, when I felt you went too far ~ amongst other times, with other people, including Leonard ~ when you suggested 'his rottenness would kill the fish in the sea' [whatever your exact wording was].

I don't try to play the 'intellectual' game as you put it. Your 'intellectual' and 'artzy' circles are more impressive to you than they are to me. I express my opinions, and justify them on the levels I do. If you feel I'm 'highjacking' this Forum, quit writing to me. I've, in fact, laid low for quite some time now ~ till you and some others started harangueing me about giving an account of and expressing my feelings about Hurricane Katrina and the boondoggle 'response' to it.

I don't need history book upon history book quotations of what's happened in the world of art over the centuries, and in political developments of countries you hold dear, either. That happens to be your area of interest. Fine. I don't begrudge the long history lessons you give the Forum. Don't even criticize you for it; though on occasion I've felt about it.

In the first place, I don't sit on the Forum all day long. There's a 'minimize' option that I use a lot. I type fast and I work fast. I get all of my day's work done in a day's time. You seem to be here as much answering me in all of this, as are the others. How do you get your painting done, as you've claimed many, long hours are spent in order to do it? Others also happen to use their computers, while at work, to be here. They use the minimize function, as well.

I'm not criticizing Laurie's job, at all......I suggested that since she seems to think she has such high expertise in the field of psychology, she should be promoted. And, if you feel so high-and-mighty about my mentioning of her job, how is it that you don't follow the line of your principles? That would include your not attacking me regarding my jobs. However, on that, you don't hesitate.

I do believe Laurie is a grown woman, just as I am. If she wants to take it upon herself to insult me, she'll do best if she expects that something may come back her way. My general approach is to stick to the issue, not the personality; but, when personality starts getting brought in, against me, I can go that way, too.

If you want to group me with what you're calling "those lousy workers of NO," that's fine; but, in their case, you're continuing in your ignorance of that situation, and blaming the victim.

It's all good. I have gone from being pissed off this morning that QE had the audacity to print my profile on the forum to being glad she sunk that low. If i was a lawyer, it would be Exhibit G to my case in point.

Yes, Laurie can take care of herself. However, it's nice to know that one has somebody in their corner. It's a bitch feeling frustrated and being the only one. I know what Laurie's talking about, and so does everyone else. I really hate the 'taking sides' approach to these conflicts, but I remember Lizzy getting in the middle of (one in particular) conflict of mine. She wasn't on my side either.

Lizzy does make condescending and sarcastic remarks about a lot of people/situations that don't require her 'judgment'. I think people should deal with their problems 'behind the scenes', but as this is now public, I'm supporting Laurie, as I've felt Lizzy's bite myself.
