Safe journey Lizzie
I too want to wish Lizzy and her entourage in the UK a great adventure and a wonderful "meet-up". Hope to see you all in Berlin next year.
Have a great time!
O, and yes, please, a live feed from the island would be nice. If not, how about a post to the forum from the field. Lizzy, you can't stop posting just because you're toasting on that greek isle!!

Dear Lizzie (I've been spelling it 'Lizzy' all this time - you know that
).
Just wanted to say have a wonderful trip! Don't forget the "Mary Quant" dresses of yore. On Carnaby Street. Maybe it's not the same street you mentioned once, but if I went to London, I'd go there just to see it. I'm sure Margaret will have some nice things planned for you.
And Hydra, well, I'm just too insanely jealous to wish you a happy holiday there! But hey, I will anyway. Have a happy time on Hydra
Nice holiday greeting, isn't it?
Spend like crazy,
Linda.

I have understood that they are old friends. Roger has been living next to Leonard's house on Hydra - but not at the time when Leonard was staying in the house. Roger was also a special guest at our 2002 Event on Hydra.By the way, does anybody know whether Leonard has met Roger Green, the author of the banana book?

If my trip down Carnaby Street last year was anything to bo by, Mary Quant black and white numbers, winkle pickers and the like skipped town a long while back, so I'd stick around Liberties, avoid Oxford Street and head for somewhere like Highgate which leaves a more wholesome impression of the dirty old town.
As for Hydra, enjoy your trip, grab a banana if you can

Glad to hear you'll be in my neck of the Northern English woods briefly - Chester is as good a local spot as you're likely to encounter of Ye Olde England verging on Wales. I hope the slate grey skies don't close you in and colour your impressions too much.
Love
Paul

UrPal,
I'm sorry to hear about the demise of Carnaby street. Naturally, in my far gone youth, I thought it would be the grooviest place in the world (next to 'Frisco, of course). Gee, you'd think they'd keep a little old-fashioned nostalgia around - it was certainly a going concern about what?? 40 years ago?! Whoa, the years fly.

All the best, Elizabeth, in Englandshire and beyond to the proper continent of Europe!
You have placed your trust in the hands of a right bunch of L.C. nutters
Seriously, I wish I was there (not in Nuneatton, but Hydra).
Pete, please don't take this personally, but if Edinburgh is the Athens of the north, then Nuneatton is the nothing of the south
Have a wonderful time in Greece, all you beautiful losers!
As aye,
Andrew.

Lizzie arrived in Nuneaton on time and we had a boat trip on the Ashby Canal followed by a walk to Bosworth Field but we missed the battle
Continued onto Matlock where we partaked of a fine cuisine in a village pub.
It is now Sunday morning.
First we took Nuneaton then we take Chester
Lizzie sends her love......is having a wonderful time
