The poem the line ‘and I never went fishing with Don’ is from?

Post by zagortenej »

There is a line in one of Leonard’s poems that is either ‘and I never went fishing with Don’ or ‘and I never did go fishing with Don’. If someone knows the poem’s title and where it appears, the information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi

Did you ever get an answer to this?

I searched for “ fish” and “ fishing” on this Leonard Cohen Concordance site, but no version of the text you quoted appears:

Best wishes.

Thank you for replying to my post.

No, I never got an answer to my inquiry. I got the line I posted from ‘the Don’ whom Leonard mentions in the poem. He told me that it is from a poem for sure because, once upon the time, he was shown this poem and he read it himself—but he couldn’t remember the poem title or where it is coming from.

So, the search continues … 😊
