'Leonard Cohen: On those who litter, and those who help'

Post by Hartmut »

Now we know what he's up to between tours: Writing letters to the editor.

I can easily imagine this letter as the basics of the lyrics for a new song ...

That's great, Hartmut - thank you!

Do you think it's really "our" Leonard Cohen? It says "Northampton" under his name, & what would he be doing in Northampton? Maybe you were joking, but as you know, I am very gullible, so I'm not sure. . .Either way, thanks for the laugh!

Edit: I just noticed that it's the Northampton in Massachusetts, so I guess it must be a different Leonard Cohen, or someone impersonating him, or is he faking his location?? This is very confusing, I give up. . .

Editing again: on second thought (or third, or fourth) it's probably Gerard D. pretending to be Leonard Cohen. . .

holydove, all of your explanations make sense ... kind of.

We will never know.

Seriously: I don't think LC is such a rare name. Here is a lawyer from Australia, for example:

Perhaps a shared name or perhaps somebody incognito, either way either way it's very good.
To the editor:

After 70-odd years observing my fellow human beings, I have come to the following conclusions:
1) There are two kinds of people: those who litter and those who pick up litter.

2) There are a lot more people who litter than there are people who pick up litter.

3) The situation is not likely to change.

Maybe it's Maarten, again.

But no, then it would be 'Leonard Chen, Northampton'.

I'm sure it's a shared name.

Great letter.

BTW, Chinese are better known as philosophers rather than marathon runners. My guess is there is a typo and that this is Leonard Chen striking again. :)

Cats caught littering.
It's a major problem - them and their scattered tinfoil balls and discarded starbucks cups. something needs to be done!

When I was growing up, we had cats that littered. That´s why, at one point, we had 27 kittens in the barn.
