in fact when you listen to it you you will only hear those words..... have a listen, you must have a copy in the house? ..you won't be able to tell what he is really singing. I've checked the real lyrics and still can't hear the right words.

Now I've really spoilt it.

or were you laughing about the messy ocean tides?? :)

Pete~
I certainly laughed at "messy ocean tides" (LC line)! I wasn't familiar with that particular Paul Simon song, but now I'll have to check it out.

Jeannieb~
Wasn't that line from Who by Fire actually "who by something gloved"? (That's how I heard it.)

Pete - being British with the toilet sense of humour we have I laughed at the Gracelands extract. That is how base my sense of humour is. In fact I have just read it again and it made me laugh again. I must take stronger medication

Pete,

It's "who by something blunt".

I can see a lot of us are in the same boat, eh?

My favorite of all (a non-Leanord song) was from Sam & Dave's "Gimme Some Lovin".

My first husband miscostrued "so glad you made it", and heard "soak your head in gravy".
"...and for something like a second, I was cured, and my heart was at ease."

Oh boy, thanks for the laugh...  ...I haven't laughed so hard at myself for a while! I finally twigged that the line Mamalex heard as 'something blonde' - you & I heard as 'silken/something glove/gloved' were one and the same! "something blunt"  . OK, so it's 2 that I misheard, not 1. Hee hee, wonder if there's more?

Well, I think it is the number one Leonard misconstued lyric so far.

"Something blonde " gets my vote for funniest. Gives me a chuckle every time.
"...and for something like a second, I was cured, and my heart was at ease."

...you mean to say it's not: " who by something blown "?! like, as in a powder...? Man!! I thought it was...
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.

The winner of a limerick constest to see who could combine the names Lewinski and Kosinski was ( to the best of my memory):

Kozinski has certainly shown
What Lewinsky must surely have known;
That an intern is better
Than a bomb ina letter
When deciding how best to be blown!
