Length of Concert?

Post by Robin Orfe »

Hello Fellow Fans!!!

I have another question this evening.

Does anyone know how long the concerts will be? I'm hoping it's at least 2 hours of Leonard and his fabulous musicians.

If anyone knows, I would appreciate your input.

I cannot even put into words how excited I am about this tour. I thought his last tour would actually BE his final tour ever. So I was upset that I'd NEVER get to see Leonard in person. I'm praying that I CAN get tickets. Even with the pre-sale, I'm actually terrified that I still won't be able to get tickets. I'm 57 years old and first heard Leonard when I was 17 years old. I've been a fan ever since. AND, no matter how old Leonard is, he is STILL a lady killer.

Hi Robin,

Are you ever in for a treat! The concert will probably last about 3 hours, with an intermission, so expect at least 2.5 hours of Leonard Cohen and his band on stage, playing all of those wonderful songs! At least, that's what they did on the last tour.

Don't worry, you'll get tickets in the presale!

And, yes, Leonard is most definitely still a lady killer! ;-)

Cheers!

Thank you so much Lisa. I hope you are right, on both counts!!!

Your saying Not to worry, that I will get the tickets in the pre-sale has definitely calmed me down.

But I'll keep praying, AND, with crossed fingers.

I desperately want to see Leonard. If I DO get the tickets I'll probably be so excited the night of the concert that I'll be spending more time in the ladies room than in my seat watching and listening to Leonard. That's what happened to me years ago when I went to an Elvis Presley concert. I know - how crazy is THAT???

I'll just have to be sure not to drink ANYTHING after about 2 pm or so. My daughter-in-law is coming with me, and I intend for this to be one of the GREATEST highlights of my ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!

Thanks Again,
Robin

Your expectations are well placed. It WILL be one of the greatest highlights of your entire life!

What Lisa says is true... if Leonard holds to his previous patterns, the concerts will last in the range of 3 hours.
His encores have brought them fully into that range... yet, even without encores, he's so close, regardless.
Leonard and his group give their performances all they've got and you will be AMAZED.
Time flies with them, too... and you and those around you will be mesmerized.

If drinking/not drinking anything ahead of time is an issue, then definitely DO NOT drink anything after 2 PM, if that's your cut-off. I'd even go for 1 PM just to be safe ;-) . That would be dreadful ~ for you, as well as those around you. People tend to not even BUDGE during his concerts.

Your daughter-in-law will be over the moon, as well.

You WILL get tickets... have you considered having your daughter-in-law try for them, as well, from a different computer? And, then, depending on the seats [communicating on the spot by phone] NOT completing the transaction on the lesser seats? I'm always so excited for those who have never seen Leonard before and really want for them to get great tickets!

The best of luck to you, Robin :D !

A trick I learned some years ago: eat a couple of big dill pickles 2-3 hours before the concert. All that salt in your system should help prevent the issues of which you speak!

Thank you Lizzy, and Lisa!!!

I've never heard of the "pickle" eating thing Lisa, but I'm willing to try anything. I know if I had to keep getting up to go to the ladies room, I would not only be disrupting myself, but other people too.

When I saw Elvis Presley years ago my mom was with me. SHE was getting annoyed with me.

Makes me think of flying too. I recently flew to Florida, and I got a window seat (my favorite seat on an airplane), but when I had to get up to use the rest room, I dreaded it because I knew the two people next to me had to get up twice for me. The next time I have to fly, I will definitely get an aisle seat. Then again, I made the collosal mistake of drinking a 20 ounce bottle of water on the trip.

Lizzy, that IS a great idea you have of having my daughter-in-law try from HER computer on Monday morning. I'm liking the idea of using the "buddy system". Oh, I just thought of something though. She is NOT a fan member here. So that would NOT work out.

I am still SO amazed that Leonard is touring again. How does he stay so young and energetic at his age?

If I DO have luck buying 2 tickets, I'm going to be so excited that you'll have to peel me off the ceiling!!!

Thank you again so much for all your help, and of course your friendship.

Robin
