The longest cable car ride I have ever experienced!
Thanks for some of your Hong Kong snaps Margaret! That is one huge statue. The cable car ride looks very exciting. You were a Liver Bird on the Wire.

Time for me to go on holiday!

Thanks Diane for uploading the pictures. They showed some of the quieter aspects of Hong Kong. The main streets were wall to wall people most of the time! A great place for shopaholics, but I wasn't one of them.

You get around the world a bit, Margaret. I dislike crowds and shopping also:-)

Ken I just tried to "quote" one of your pictures but it won't work unless I save it to my computer first. Never mind. Magic is the word though.

...here's something of interest for urinary incontinent beatles fans, and woody guthrie fans...

...just around the corner from me is a little known beatles shrine visited by only the die-hard fans, usually american or japanese...........it's the house that the quarrymen recorded their first ever demo in a front room studio....full story here.....

http://www.phillipsacetates.com/blue-plaque-day.html

i took these photos earlier today....
a.jpg
a couple of doors down from this holy of holy places there is a gated alleyway which today was dislaying this sign....
b.jpg
now i don't know whether it's the spelling or the fact that the sign had to be put up in the first place that bothers me the more...anyways we have a saying in liverpool 'never piss on your own doorstep' so i'm sure it's not the local liverpudlians that are relieving themselves in such a holy and sacred place....so weighing up all the evidence i guess it must be the japanese and american beatle fans...shame on you all

anyway folks i'm off to glorious yorkshire for the weekend where i will be attending a production of 'this land: the woody guthrie story'
http://www.thislandtour.co.uk/
at the west yorkshire playhouse in the fine city of leeds...where hopefully i won't come across any american or japanese woody guthrie fans pissing in the street.....ta ken

HI Diane

Thanks for your sweet comment. I deleted that post , as I was a bit drunk and probably a tad sentimental with it. Now I am the sane Monday girl again.

Really sorry you won't make it to Kracow, but you can be sure you will get all the stories and photos right here when we get back. The photos won't be as good as yours but I am sure there will be a story or 2 attached to them

I suppose you are right . It is asking a bit much to be telling Polish stories on a Welsh thread . But please tell me there will be a new thread for the event

How's about : There's a Kracow in everything that's where the light gets in....

Tinds, drunken posting should not only be encouraged, it should be obligatory. There was an excellent whiskey thread once where everyone drank their favourite whiskey and quoted poems, like Rumi's Whoever Brought Me Here Will Have to Take Me Home. Have the best time at the event, and yes take loads of pics. xx.
Thanks in advance for the stick of rock, Phil:-)
Whilst you are out there, have cereal for breakfast  !

Btw just as a footnote to the stick of rock thing . When I was young we always went on holiday to Morecombe but my dad being a tight yorkshireman got the idea that the cost of the rock was linked to the number of letters running through it . The year after we went to Rhyl . I kid you not !
