Thanks for posting you views on hallelujah. You write :"is leonard Cohen a prophet?" I would answer :"that depends on your views on what a prophet is, if a prophet is someone who descripe truth which the rest of the culture cannot see, then LC is a prophet." you say:"is Halleluja the lost psalm?no its a poplyric. To that I would say "hopefully both!!"

Thank you for your support on the article and for welcoming me to the board.
I am a regular (or at least semi-regular) contributor on Stylus, was signed up just before New Year. It depends on what sort of article you're writing, but for specialist items like that, we put our names to deadlines with a suggested artist/song/album/etc to cover, then if it's approved we write the piece. In short, if it's going to be well-written, and of some public interest, it's okay.
As for Cohen as a prophet...hmm, I think I was just trying to gain some perspective on an artist where often no perspective is applied. Just like anyone else "talked about", Cohen is prone to being given ridiculous labels by fans that they could and probably would never aspire to anyway.
Thanks for your encouragement once more.
Colin.
