The wait

Post by Gullivor »

I get hurt.
I get wounded.
I retreat to the comfort of Solitude.
I'm alone now in safety.
I'm alone now with God...and he's not speaking!

I wait. I pray.
I wait more, I pray harder.
I wait.

I thought I had arived God?
I thought you made me complete?
In wonder and defete I become Humble again
and can hear God wisper.

I grow.
I become strong.
Life is fine again.
I'v arived!
I'm complete!

I get hurt.
I get wounded.
I retreat to the comfort of solitude.
I'm alone now in safety.
I'm alone now with God....and he's not speaking!

I wait. I pray.
I wait longer and pray harder.
I hear his whisper!
I grow.
We’ve all come to
This moment
To find out
Who we are.

I, too, wait. And grow.

A profoundly personal poem that has implications for everyone - even if many deny it.

Thank you,
Boss

For the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a man (that is) an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,

And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.

Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.

And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, (that) shall ye receive.

So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them (their) hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

And when they came that (were hired) about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.

But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.

And when they had received (it), they murmured against the goodman of the house,

Saying, These last have wrought (but) one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.

But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

Take (that) thine (is), and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. [Matthew 20:1-16]

Wait and grow by all means, but consider some day that you are grown enough already, Boss. My God, consider that perhaps you've always been grown enough.

Casey, I have to say thank you for taking me to a link wherein I found an angel's voice. One that is totally new to me. I had thought that Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah was incomparably angelic. However, Sissel surpasses one of my favourite sopranos, Katherine Jenkins.
Once again, I continue to discover artists who have the capacity to take my breath away. And once again, I have missed years of appreciating their God given gift.
Many thanks.

Thank You Boss!

I think everyone at one time or another waits and grows then waits and grows again.... one way or another.

Casey,

Yes Indeed we all are grown enough already. But as I heard somewhere before "were all pieces of work in progress"!

The video was very charming!....I do wonder If she would be as graceful and happy if she lost her cat, her home and her family? How would she feel if she lost her voice and couldn't earn her living by doing what she loves "singing"? I'm sure she would have a deeper level of growth and appreciation. I mean I love my doggie to but he is 10 years old...he is not going to be around forever!
