Now, My Dear Jo ~

Are a few paltry points worth the revelation of some of those aspects of your private life? Please reconsider. How could you suggest that I'm loquacious when I don't even know what it means!?! Sparkling wit? Are you talking to me??? Let's you and me scout around for a really good nomination. BC's already in love with Cia's Greensleeves [or so says Pete] and Helven has a long-standing, good relationship with them both, as well. Me? Well, you know that keeping my mouth shut with B.C. could end up a problem. Poor Pete could return to the I Spy headquarters, with B.C. all in a shambles, his peace and quiet, to which he's become quite accustomed [with only occasional flareups] with Pete could overnight, be turned on its head. It could be years getting things back on an even keel. It just may not be the best strategic decision for us to go with at this early a juncture.

I say Cia or Helven! Are you with me? With me or against me, what's it gonna be :D ?

I'll be so happy to see you return to your eagle-eyed I Spying. You can do it without having to drag a single one of them...I mean one of those stand-alone lines into this. You can do it, Girl :D !!! As for me, I'm headed to bed.

Goodnite with love,
Lizzytysh

Urrrraaaahhhh! My feat was rewarded! :D

And meanwhile the absent mare decided to manifest one of her innumerable avatars. She says it isn’t for points; she just wants everyone to have an opportunity to contemplate her perfection :) . Though, if I am she, or it, or it’s me, or somehow else, why don’t I ask anything for the fact of my existence  :? ? – especially since being present here only virtually I’m absent, indeed.
[“I’ve finally found myself…”  ]

But there’s a couple of very interesting – I’d say exceptionally interesting  – observations I’ve made now. Firstly, I certainly can see some birthmark-s on my skin (they’re 18 there if it may interest anyone), and secondly, I never said that I was brave. Yeah, I recalled, recalled, and recalled, and I think I can swear now I’ve never said that!

Oh, I haven’t checked the pages before adding this post so haven’t read some previous ones.
Elizabeth, thank you for recommendation, I consider it an honour :D ! And I think Cia meets this post much more than me :D !
And as for my little sketch… hmm, I still think your commentary was right only partly. If the task was to see violin itself I’d agree that mere sketch wasn’t enough; but as it was to see it burning, first of all, and it really was burning, and the fire was real, I think it wasn’t award for originality only :) . Though, I can assure you – no sketches in the future :) !
I've finally found myself! But that turned out to be a completely different person.

Ah, yes, of course, Helven.....an incompletely-developed thought, perhaps. However, absent the ingenuity and originality, the violin burning and the fire would never have been seen. Implicit in my comment was that points should be awarded for the follow-through. Had it only been the drawing, there would have been no burning. It would still be intact, a study of a violin on paper. No points there!

 Tee-hee.....I love your absent-mare development and the pinnacle-realized of the search we all make, to find ourselves  . Who'd uh thought such a sense of completion could from a Leonard Cohen game, that which has now become The Favourite Game.

Great avatar...."the ponies run...". How does "the mare runs...." sound?

Thought I saw an eagle but it might have been a vulture running for a vote - I never can decide. Now puzzle that out for an answer dear Lizzytysh, and you will see I am on the side of snake-eyes

But BC really would be horrified if he must read every single line in this thread, Pete has done a marvellous job and kept the heat of his boss - and I do concider that Lizzytysh will be able to take care of that for a couple of days - so go for it :D

Best wishes for THE FUTURE from Cia

ps: read in the news today that both CIA and Saddam where cheated by the iraq scients - did I miss something here or was I too busy dancing to the end of love?

Many thanks to Pete and BC for your understanding regarding my standing at the window.

We have a major blizzard in progress here at the moment, but it was preceded by a couple of fairly impressive rolls of thunder and flashes of lightning. My daughter, who has never liked thunder, came running to me, crying "Mother, I'm frightened, the thunder and lightning". Now that the thunder has stopped and it's just a regular snowstorm, she has changed her tune. Now she's pleading "please, let me go into the storm", but I'm afraid that if she does she will step into an avalanche, as it's building up alarmingly on top of the porch.

When you and BC are deliberating on how many points to award for these I-Spies, I would respectfully ask you to bear in mind not only the amazing synchronicity (do I mean synchronicity or serendipity? - all these big words starting with S make my brain hurt :? ) of the events, but also the evidence that my daughter is becoming far more steeped in Leonard Cohen's work than she realises

The storm is over now, it didn't last long. And now, as night comes on, it's very calm..............

Today it snowed a bizzard of ice and snow.
I had cause to drive from Matlock to Chesterfield this afternoon and those who know of Matlock and Chesterfield ( and not many I would think) will realise that to get from one to another it means driving on a road that ascends many contours before a sharp descent followed by another ascent before finding Chesterfield. I only got as far as the top of the first ascent when everything turned white and I decided to about turn. I met a gritting lorry coming towards me and I slid in all directions before finding myself facing back towards Matlock. The driver of the lorry looked at me with an expression that said 'I chose this journey long before you came upon this highway'.

An analysis of the above (which genuinely happened) reveals a contrast between actual I Spys and perceived I Spys but not to 'Jo I Spys'.
In particular the reader is drawn to the obvious I Spy of a blizzard of ice. The blizzard began as snow which has since turned to ice and thus the blizzard, by virtue of being responsible for the ice, can be termed a blizzard of ice. I still continue my I Spys so as not to lose the art and have added to the I Spy by the mentioning the snow as an important, but not crucial, element of this I Spy.
The 'sliding in all directions' happened as far as sliding in 2 directions..sideways and then forwards. 'All' is not singular and nor is 2 so I can claim this I Spy.
The perceived thoughts of the lorry driver in this instance can be attributed to the I Spy because the sentence holds true whether it was uttered or not.
There is a line between these I Spys and a Jo I Spy which needs to be maintained..

I still can't wake BC up... I think I overdid the mushy peas.
Mistress..thankyou so much for your supporting comments and I will come back to those later... and others' posts....especialy Witty Owl and his damned banjo :)
Now...how many points should I get for the above??????
For those of you interested in the post of commander I invite you to state how many points I should get.
This will help indicate your potential and interest in the job before more formal proceedings ensue

She never loses her stride does she, Helven....pure perfection 8) .

Cia ~ !!! You have your eyes to the sky, yet are still able to ferret out the points issues. I really think you should declare that You're Our Woman. If I'm the one to shield BC from all this, it could be a virtual snakepit by the time Petey returns. I mean, Pete. Pet names are for private. I truly believe, with your being on the side of snake eyes, that you should Be The One [any points for a Pete-variety I-Spy :D ?]. You know the ambivalence that can come with such task. I'm afraid I may have become lost in the "Songs of Love and Hate" by the time he returns. Just not a safe bet, turning it over to me.

On the order of the CIA/Saddam rip-off, I saw a cartoon yesterday, with Blair punctuating his points in the air, with his hands, as he asks Bush, "What proof do you have that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction?" Bush, looking at him as though he's an ignoramus, replies, "We kept the receipts." Maybe it wasn't a cartoon ~ just a snapshot version of an actual exchange. I know of a number of blonde jokes that could find a [rather real,] good home in him

Why don't you give it a practice shot, Cia, and offer a points assessment, for consideration by Pete, on Linmag's rich experience with Hazel 8) :D ? I'm certain you'll easily validate your qualifications :D . I can't even figure out your eagle/vulture/snake-eyes reference. Are you referring to Jo  :? ?

For the layering and multiplicity of events; in addition to your inability to be out there actively seeking with all the other I Spyers; not to mention the obvious risk to your life [you surely had reason to turn around, per your description of the terrain, as well as the mere fact that you did!] My assessment would be 200-250. I can't decide which, yet. However, I'm probably overrating you [after all, you are My Mistreusse, so couldn't possibly be considered for the position :D . I'm inclined to say 200, and suggest 250 for Linmag, as hers had more elements [and I have a tender heart for Hazel]. Oh, heck, 250 for each of you. What would we do if you had not turned back!?!

Cia ~ go for it! Helven ~ any ideas? Show your abilities.....you've obviously hit your stride :D !

Who says it wasn't actually witnessed?

Just because I'm a hundred and wearing something tight doesn't mean it's closing time for my secret life.

Love's the only engine of survival so I can break the ancient Western code to stave off the recurring existential ennui. And even if I've said it clear and said it cold I do trust you'll understand it ain't going any further - I don't want my private life to suddenly explode.

And don't ask for intimate details as proof of the pudding - if you're squeezed for information, that's when you've got to play it dumb. I am after all a respectably married woman, syrup and muffins notwithstanding.

Witty Owl
You mentioned banjo again. :x
I'm afraid I will have to tell on you and inform BC upon his awakening.
You're going to be in real big trouble now.. I can't wait to see what he does
Your only hope is that the mushy peas continue their effect for a while longer.

Helven
We can now see your absent mare which doesn't do your cause much good at all. You say you have found yourself... were you lost?.. had you walked the maze of misdirection?.....had you looked into the mirrors in numberless places and seen troublesome faces that dealt cards with no aces and never listened to absent mares at the races?...had you?....had you?

Linmag
You talk of stepping into an avalanche which is building up alarmingly on the porch!! Does it say in the I Spy book....
"I stepped into an avalanche
it built up alarmingly on my porch
when I am not this hunchback that you see
I stand by my window looking for thunder and lightening" ?????

I think not :x

Cia
Vultures do not run!!!!...........they wait and they wait and they wait and then they swoop and devour all that is dead before them..they don't run ..it would be unvulturelike to run and most demeaning.

Jo
You talk of vera city.........where is this place called vera city? :(

I think I need a break.

A commander is needed for the weekend before I take my short leave.

Who are the nominations?? There's a lot of nominating going on and we now need the shortlist.

Lizzytysh has given her points for my snowy adventure today and I interpret that as a firm nomination.

Any more nominations??? deadline is looming.

I hear BC stirring..Witty Owl had better keep his head down.

I sense a terrible bias here and much maligning of my truthful nature, not to mention that you doubt the fact that I've had old lovers and am too washed out to acquire new/old ones.

I swear it happened just like this, a sigh, a cry, a hungry kiss.

I can't run no more with this lawless crowd so if the boss don't like these dizzy heights he can go sit in his tower of song. I just don't care what happens next.

Dang it!!! I got carried away with Cia, et al, and I had meant to put a disclaimer at the end of my points assessment, stating that this was in NO way to be MISCONSTRUED as a formal, informal, or otherwise for said position of Commandress!!! Now, SOMEONE had better step to the plate and accept the nomination!!! Granted, we can all see the stress bearing down on My Mistreusse [in his behaviour  ] ~ look what he did with Linmag's scenario  . I love his tidbit of songwriting, though. Perhaps it should have read like that, Pete?

Good heavens :D , Jo, I think you need to start a game of your own, with you as Mistress. One of cohesive, logical storywriting using guess who's lines.

Helven ~ I guess Pete's right, that your absent mare isn't looking too absent these days :? .

I think for now, a moment of prayer may be in order for Cia, with her vultures, and Witty, with his banjo. Tired Petey doesn't seem amused. Nappy time?

Okay, I nominate anyone/everyone other than me. I know they can be relied upon to do a splendid job!
