Dear fellow Cohenheads,
I have been a member of this beautiful community since 2002, and have received much positivity while being active in the forum, then I had a major burnout Spring of '07. I want to reconnect with my lovely friends here. I dedicate this one to you. It's in the hip-hop vernacular, as I have been making such music as of late. This one was birthed on May 22, a day when my phone went kaput, I was locked out of my new apartment, and I started my own company. On the way to walking to my mom's place, a half hour away, I was inspired by the goings on of the streets.
Don't let the negativity ride you, boo
Just smile and do you
Be true
Don't be a fool
Jumpin' out of cars
With your chain saws
Stealin' candy bars
Breaking laws
What you gotta do
Is access and develop your special powers
Bring your mom flowers
Let the blessings rain down on you like showers
Don't start building towers
To the sky
In your mind
You think you're so fly
It's all a lie
Which the truth denies
But the positivity of you and me
Rains down like steel on the planet
And those that ban it, get branded
Then we make a truce
And get loose
Like Mother Goose!
I have a Judy Collins-Leonard Cohen story to share, I am running out the door but will post it next.
Salut
Elazar

Re: A positive message upon my return
Looking forward to your story, Elazar... and it's great to see you back around here. It sounds like things have eased out for you a bit. I like your hip-hopped message. Glad to know you're still able to go see your Mom... and are doing it!
