Four in the Morning.

Post by Everett Wade »

-Four in the Morning-

Four in the morning.
A quiet shade over the room
Or shroud of jewelled smoke
The cold panes of glass reflect the moon
With the deep expression
Of night
The lamp on the table responds
As rain slips down
The windows
And from a corner
His shining green eyes
Against the crimson soul
Of the fire's glowing coals
Releasing another sigh
He started to read
A face of no more than twenty
But eyes that betrayed
A pain beyond the grasp of time
He read the story
Coming from a negation in the sky
His voice dropping deep
Scraping the bottom of his heart
A drop of blood trickles past
The room reverberates with a low moan
Night's tears tracing
Down the windows agains
Settling silence they drink in
And they all say goodbye
Like the tinkling of windchimes
At four in the morning.

Hi Everett...I was going to comment on the effectiveness of your imagery, as well. However, my wondering whether this is a reflection into your own past, as it appears to be. --Lizzytysh

Hi Harry ~

What do "agains," "imagry," and "life" mean to you??

I suspect you actually meant to ask about "past" when you included mine... and, instead, inadvertently answered your own question ;-) .

Here I got so excited when I saw Everett Wade's name, thinking he was back, in that I didn't look, as I ought to have, at the name of the most recent poster :( . Oh well, it's good to see Everett in one form or another, again.

Best of luck with your questions :) .
