Love endures

I just wanted to say,
since I believe your love for me
is flip flopping
this way and that,
that my love for you endures;
it’s here for the taking,
or ignoring.
I’ve much to see and do. even as
I hurt for you,
I sing for you too, and laugh.
if you want my voice, you’ve only
to ask. if you want
my cries, you can ask
for them too.
I’ll not be through with
loving you. though I wish
the sky could have you know
these things; I wish
the world were enough to
contain your happiness.
but even in
your times of sadness,
especially then,
know this to be
true:
know I am here,
loving you.

Fine poem

Dear Boss... this year, more than other years it seems, I've been burdened by something... a desire to connect to something greater than myself it seems... Poetry to me connects me to my soul, or my heart... which doesn't know much in the way of cleverness... I'd like to accept what seems like a positive review, and yet this poem is being impossibly sincere... to wish the beloved the capacity to heal simply by its being in love's sights... to keep hold of that greater love, even when one knows too how covetous and selfish romantic love can be... and yet it's part of the same thing, I'd like to think... that in love if we seek to be unselfish we are wed to something far greater than ourselves... So, how to be this thing in words... to inhabit such a place through these simple words...

I don't know if that ruins the poem for you... but that's where it's coming from...
