Royal Albert Hall tickets ?

Post by loulou »

just tried booking at seetickets.com - who said tickets will be available at 9.00 today - none available on the website (but you can book there for the new London 02 date). when you ring the booking line, they say there lines are busy and disconnect you (no queuing).

also rang the Albert Hall who said that Leonard is not confirmed yet.

so i guess this info, together with what Henning said in the other thread , means that Albert Hall tickets will only become available AFTER the 02 tickets have all sold ?

anyone else got any other ideas or had sucess (esp for Royal Albert Hall ? )

You may try again as often as you wish.'

maybe jsut technology snag - not by design ?

Loulou,

I actually managed to access the Royal Albert Hall tickets link on seetickets......only for it to eventually produce a page saying that there were no tickets listed for this event.

Therefore, I suspect that this was an erroneous listing by seetickets.
There is certainly no mention of it on the Royal Albert Hall website.

N.B. they also had a listing for Liverpool Echo Arena on 20th November.....and this also appears to be an unconfirmed 'phantom' date that seetickets have posted in error.

Hope that calms your nerves!

thanks Gift (if i may call you that :) )

yeah i give it another 10 minutes but guess that the RAH is conditional on all the other 02 shows (one on sale now, another possible the day after - as per Henning, who enquired with Jarkko) - and then i go back to bed ;-)

okay got through to seetickets again - RAH ticket offer now withdrawn, other UK dates on sale - that solves it then for now...

Mister Gift to you!

Just managed to access the seetickets site again and those two listed dates for Liverpool Arena and the Royal Albert Hall have mysteriously vanished from their listing.

File under 'administrative error'....?!

lol MISTER Gift, it is then

yeah, personally, i am going to wait to see what happens and hope for the RAH (or 'there is a concert hall in vienna' (which looks nice) or maybe paris if serendipity turns up a good ticket) - all that is more my thing and i have already been blessed with that Manchester show & have the Big Chill one to look forward to - so no need to get greedy on my part

seetickets were busy at first, so it wouldn't surprise me if the first Albert Hall show sold out in seconds. I'm not panicking on this one though...many shows, many options, more to be announced, good seats will also no doubt be released later and on the day etc etc.!

John,

Don't panic!

As discussed above, there were actually never any tickets available on Seetickets for the Royal Albert Hall date.

It was a figment of their imagination.

Can LC really sell out the O2 Arena in London and then the Royal Albert Hall as well?
Is he suddenly 'bigger' than Robbie Williams?!

Loulou,

Indeed.
The 'rumoured' date at the Royal Albert Hall on 17th November coincides with my birthday, so I would just have to be there on that night in order to get Leonard to blow out the candles on my birthday cake inbetween songs....

I have no desire to see LC in such soulless venues as the O2 Arena, NEC Arena etc.
Manchester Opera House spoiled me and we were so blessed to see LC perform there.

Anyhow, see you in the intimate confines of the Olympia in Paris on 26th November?
You know it makes sense!

well MISTER Scorpio, we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed for your birthday then ! 8)

yeah paris makes sense, apart from the added expenses, i can imagine though it would be really worth it (i had a longing to see paris again soon anyway !) - so if i go, i will aim for the 26th (if you hear about a nice ticket for sale for the 26th, pls do let me know !)

I got an email from a ticket agency today with the following link. I'm going to ignore it as i've not used the agency before and i'm not buying tickets to a gig that has yet to be confirmed; i'm going to wait for the general sale but thought i'd give you the opportunity to make your own mind up.

thanks drowning man

i have looked at their site and they describe themselves as a 'sold-out specialist' - they are listing the RAH as you say, but they do not have tickets in hand (in the FAQ they say, 'if their suppliers can't deliver...'). they also function as a tout, as they are offering tickets that went on sale this morning at highly inflated prices....

please also see in NEWS the thread LC UK tour ticket - another tout in another guise saying that they are the 'OFFICIAL fan to fan exchange site' - looks like a tour platform who whack on an extra massive fee on on top of vastly inflated tout charges

Really hope the RAH concert goes ahead.
I really thought the O2 was a fantastic venue last night even if it is just a big corporate marketing tool. (Apprently Cream refused to support Led Zeppelin there last year for this reason).
The RAH is in my opinion the best concert venue in the whole of London and to see Leonard there would be sublime, its obviously a much smaller venue than the O2 and so it would have a much more intimate feel.
Still on a high from last night and from the fact I've now got tickets for the O2 in November (after MANY problems with Ticketmaster! )

As for these tout websites, dont use them there were tons selling Zeppelin tickets last year for thousands of pounds even though no tickets were given to them.
I'd say if tickets were going to go on sale they'd fo on sale next Friday.
17/07/08 - The O2 Arena, London
13/11/08 - The O2 Arena, London
08/09/12 - Wembley Arena, London

Last concert: Wacken Open Air Festival, Germany
Next concert: Leonard Cohen, Wembley Arena, London

The Royal Albert Hall is a great venue with perfect acoustics and would suit Leonard so very well. I would definitely fly over to London to see him there.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the last one of this year's Teenage Cancer Trust concerts there in April, with David Gray and Roger Daltrey & Pete Townsend and many more perform acoustic sets. This would definitely be the most beautiful setting for a LC concert.
