UK fans : consider Lörrach

Post by timnor »

Hi

Lörrach is only 2 hours drive from Friedrichshafen Airport. Ryan Air fly to Friedrichshafen daily from Stanstead. It's a lovely part of Germany so why
not enjoy a dirty weekend break with Leonard

I can only agree with Jim on this. It is a beautiful outdoor location on the market place of Lörrach, the weather is perfect and it's a Friday.

I would have loved to have attended this show. Too bad LC wasn't touring the 7yrs I lived in München. I thought Lörrach was an unusual choice of city for Germany until I saw the preceding and following cities he's playing. This tour is already doing alot of zig-zagging. They say further dates will be added in August so I think another DE date will happen. It seems strange Berlin and Paris aren't scheduled yet.

I'm pining for a trip back and reading about all these fantastic European venues doesn't help.

Fly to Basel/Bale (BSL) - only 20 mins drive from Loerrach. Easyjet fly there from Stansted. Also all other major airlines fly there.

It's close to Alsace in France, close to Switzerland and close to the Black Forest - great place for a holiday and it's situated in a lovely wine growing region with good food and drink (I know as I'm from that region 8) )

http://www.stimmen.de :

"Auf seiner Tour 2008 wird Leonard Cohen bei STIMMEN 08 auf dem Lörracher Marktplatz sein einziges Konzert in Deutschland geben."

Translation:

Lörrach (STIMMEN 2008) will be his only concert in Germany during his tour in 2008 ... !!!?!

Amazing, but there might be more German concerts later, maybe in 2009 ...

Hi!

If you want to see Cohen in Lörrach, you should hurry to get the tickets. On http://www.stimmen.com they already say "wenige tickets erhältlich", that is "few tickets available".

Hi, I have just got tickets for the Lorrach gig. I paid for them on the Stimmen.com website. It all seems to have gone through and the money has been taken off my credit card, but I received no confirmation email. Did anyone else who bought them have this experience? I emailed them and Burghof for confirmation but heard nothing back. Also, for anyone living out that way, do you know if it is possible/feasible/realistic to travel just by train down to Athens from there? ;-)

I don't live that way but I enjoy traveling by train so I checked on http://www.bahn.de, and yes, it's feasible:

Lörrach Sa, 26.07.08 dep 10:01 48:38 6 SBB, ICE, IC, EC, D
Athenes Mo, 28.07.08 arr 11:39

Lörrach Sa, 26.07.08 dep 21:16 45:33 6 SBB, RE, CNL, IC, D

Hey, wow, thank you so much for all your work! It seems possible! I appreciate your effort. I will look into it on that website (hope it is in English too!)

Hi,
better you choose eaysjet from London or Liverpool to Basel Euroairport.
Easyjet flies in 3 to 5 times per day, its cheap and Basel airport is only about 20 min. drive from Loerrach, where the cobndert takes place.

With 82,210,000 people living in Germany, and Lorrach being the only LC concert there, it's wonder there are some tickets left, and it seems it's going to be even more crowded.

Hiya just got my ticket for Lörrach! very excited now having been unable to get tickets for England, and unable to go to Montreux Jazz festival. Speaking of travel arrangements, just to tell you know, Swiss air do offers Manchester- Basel for £50 but you'll have to check nearer the time for that.kate
