Hiya,
Got the Guardian at 6am on Friday and managed to get through at 10:01 and get tickets. They only had the gallery left apparently, but I was not complaining (even though that seemed bizarre) as I was just so surprised and happy to get tickets!
My question is to people who know the Manchester Opera House layout - how high up is the gallery (Row C I think)? I ask because I'll be 6 months pregnant on the day of the concert and so am just trying to picture in my mind where I'll be and how much I'll be able to see, as well as how comfortable I'm likely to be! Any advice gratefully received.

Hi U/T
You will have no problem seeing anything, it really is a very intimate venue and nothing seems too far away from the stage (in fact from the stage it must seem like you are very close to a lot of faces staring back!!)...
It does however increase in angle from a gentle slope in the stalls (let's say 6 degrees) to around 15 degrees in the circle to what feels like around 35 degrees in the gallery! You'll be OK...just hang on to the person next to you.
That should make the venue even more intimate

Thanks for your replies (and I'd love to hear your view after tonight Jondi). Sorry you didn't get ticktets for L.C though... If my card hadn't already been maxed just getting our 2 tickets, I'd have bought extra and sold them to fans for cost!
My baby will have ears by then and be able to hear sounds - so L.C will be his/her first ever concert - how cool is that?!

Thanks for your concern Uber, I got some but just not as good as those for tonight but blessings are being counted as we speak
Re: Manchester Opera House Gallery - How high?
I was there on Monday and the place is small! Stalls and circle will feel great, gallery is a little high but it will really feel that you are close to The Man. Anyone going there can count themselves blessed

Thanks so much for coming back and responding, Jondi. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this - and am now even more excited about the concert!!!
All the best,

The Opera House is a great venu and one of my favourites in Manchester. I have seen many great concerts and plays there. It is an intimate venu but leg room is limited in the gallery.

I stumbled across these on flickr - they might give you a better idea as to the feel of the venue...
