Hi,
Do you think there is any chance of Leonard performing at the Montreux Jazz festival this summer?
Hope so, cos this is where I'm going on holiday.

I hope that Leonard will visit Belfast or Dublin with his tour. Better still - both cities.
I'm hoping that he will play in Cork!

With the Point Depot out of action in Dublin, and the "Live at the Marquee" gigs happening in Cork again this summer, I'm (wishfully) thinking he would be perfect for this venue........close to home for me :D

Hi Yancovic,
Thanx very much for the explanation about the promo in New York, and for letting me know you are not a promoter, 'just a big fan'. I can hardly believe the tickets are costing so much money. Now I wonder how much the Brit tickets will be - THAT level of money I do not have (2000 dollars and upwards for one ticket)!!

I'm a big fan too, and have seen Leonard in concert three times over the years, the last time, like so many others, at the Royal Albert Hall here in London (wonderful!), so like us all I am just hanging on in there for the dates and venues in Europe. (Apart from seeing him at the Philip Glass concert of the Book of Longing in London at the Barbican recently, when Leonard was being interviewed onstage rather than singing, which was also fantastic to see.)

Does anyone know whether once the announcement finally comes through whether it will be to give a date when booking opens (and how to book), or whether we will have to hope we can get to our computers on the day the announcement comes through as tickets will go on sale immediately it is announced? I am not always at home and cannot access my computer for this site EVERY day, though I look every day I am here. Panic...

It would be great if Jarrko or someone could answer this, please, if you know??

$2000 for a ticket? Is there any discount for senior citizens or children under 70?

surely Leonard wouldn't allow tickets to be sold at that price, legally.

surely.

I'm puzzled by how many people seem to have read the spoof post about unaffordable tickets, but not the repeated posts by moderators pointing out that it was a joke :?

I think everyone wants him to tour their city; it would be wonderful if he came to the annual New Orleans jazzfest; and a dozen other large and small New Orleans venues; hope the tour schedule comes out soon.

This waiting is getting to my head, me thinks... Had a terrific dream tonight where LC & band were preparing for a gig in my hometown, but as things usually unfold in dreams... No gig, but I stood behind LC when he was making a call
& suddenly had his yellow pair of braces (suspenders?) in my hand... Well, he was nice about it.
And why are you so quiet now, standing there in the doorway?

All tickets must be bought locally throug ticket master -type of companies. The artists never
sell any tickets. We will share any ticket info we may get, but it is obvious that the selling
methods will vary from venue to venue!

When the announcement comes will it be posted on the Files site as well as the Forum? ie easy to find as opposed to just being tagged into one of the discussions

I've only just found out about the tour today - I've been regularly checking the net for the last couple of years - ever hopeful - and I'm just delighted. I've been a huge fan of LC since I was 12 years old! A friend's father gave me a crackly cassette of his early songs and I took it home and listened and cried and somehow felt understood - and his music has accompanied me ever since. Which I guess is the case for most of you. I'm just excited about the tour and having only now joined up to the forum I'm enjoying sharing my appreciation of Leonard with like-minds.

Thanx very much for the info about spoof ticket prices, bluefluff, and thanx v. much Jarkko for the info re the ticket sales announcements - which means we'll all have a bit of time hopefully before the tickets actually go on sale, so if I (God forbid) miss the day this great site of yours finally makes The ANNOUNCEMENT, I won't have to panic about missing out on my chance for a ticket...
Fantastic about LC in the Hall of Fame, now everybody knows

Any ideas yet when news of the tour dates will be released? I do sooooo hope that Leonard Cohen will play somewhere in the UK other than Glastonbury...otherwise I may have to hop on a train to Europe and find him there. Perhaps it will have to be Berlin.......

i heard on the radio the other day that glastonbury may vet ticket applicants so not to many older visitors buy tickets! so maybe going to europe to see L.C would be good in principle as well as maybe necessary in practice

I have been compulsively checking the forum since first learning of the new tour; and like others, I fear missing a rare opportunity; does anyone know of new sources of information on this? General dates? and of course any info on specific cities would be fantastic. Ive been a fan for years and am surprised at the number of people who hear his work for the first time and think he is a "new" songwriter / poet; or assume that he is their age and/or generation; a tribute to the timelessness of his poetic content.
