I was 22 when my husband introduced me to Leonard Cohen in an effort to wean me off David Bowie and Queen! He is more of a Dylan fan than Cohen, but I was fed up with Dylan,as my husband kept playing his songs over and over to get me turned on to him.I didn't play his Greatest Hits album all that often though and just kept it to one side.Eight years went by I put his album on and wham! I was hooked.I bought every album I could find and became obsessed with him.I was so disappointed not to have seen him live in concert and thought that I never would.

Fourteen years later the unbelievable happens Leonard is touring again! I wasn't a member of the forum then, and talk about panic stations trying to get a ticket. Finally,I get two for me and my son, middle row five away from Leonard! Superb.Couldn't wait.

Thursday comes, the day of the concert.I suddenly feel like a little girl again on xmas morning. My body feels like I'm plugged into a socket, electricity is flowing through my legs and making my heart tingle and tickle.I literally skip down my street, this fourty four year old woman, with a silly grin on her face acting like a schoolgirl again.I didn't know it at the time, but my son's friend had passed me in his car, wondering what the hell I was doing and he told my son that he'd just seen me skipping down the street! Son not impressed.

Finally, we arrive in Manchester, have something to eat just opposite the Opera House and in we go.I must admit I felt slightly apprehensive, what if his voice had gone, and so on.Then he skips on to the stage! He looks fantastic and he starts to sing.I have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes his voice is better than ever and it is just so magical an evening.I have never experienced a concert like that before and I will never forget it so very special. My son thought it was outstanding too which pleased me even more.
