Chords of Blessed is the memory

Postby peter danielsen » Wed Oct 31, 2007 4:22 pm

Has anyone been able to locate the chords to blessed is the memory, as I think this is a great song.
I also think it would attract a lot women to the sound of my guitar.

I'm trying to learn how to transcribe music, and I'm very bad at it.
(It's hard! : )

But this is what I get, so far, for the basic structure of the re-issued
bonus track version of Everybody's Child:

There are 3 sets of 16 measures.
And only 2 chords, - Im and IV
eg:

Bm Bm
Bm Bm Bm Bm
Bm Bm Bm Bm
E E E E
Bm Bm

Mostly what sounds like chord changes are just different inversions of Bm.

But judge for yourself.
This is what I have so far.

It's extremely schematic - basicly just the base line.
( And and I am perfectly well aware that it doesn't sound anything
remotely like the song! : )
But the only point of it is to help find the chords.

er, ...if you want to use this to play the song,
you should probably forget about attracting women
until you've worked it out a lot better ... : )

otherwise it's more likely to repel than attract

here it is with synthetic voices
(ScanSoft's "Daniel" and "Karen")

(600k)

it has a certain charm, i think.

Haha  . Actually, it's very charming, especially the do-do do-do do-do do-do do-do do-do do's. Seriously, that's amazing to me. All of it. I like it.

yes its wonderful, however as I have always
maintained, if Leonard ever uses synthetic voices the critics will say that they can't really sing. some people just don't get it

Bm Bm Bm Bm

D
I remember the promise
Bm
That you made in the barn
D
When the kittens were born
Bm
And you could not keep warm
D
So you moved away the mountain
Bm
That the sun rose behind
D
And you said yourself a prayer
Bm
And laid down with the blind
A
But you lost them in your freedom
D
And you need him now, you're wild
A
Blessed is the memory
D
Of everybody's child

And son and so forth.
