LC's most inspired songs about having no inspiration

Postby AlexandraLaughing » Mon Jan 19, 2015 11:31 pm

It struck me that LC has recorded a surprising number of inspired songs about having no inspiration. Off the top of my head, I can think of the following:

Last Year's Man

Diamonds in the Mine

Death of a Ladies' Man

If it Be your Will

Waiting for the Miracle

By Rivers Dark

Alexandra Leaving

Going Home

Any others people can think of?

I thought about trying to say something witty as a reply, but ...
My page was too white
My ink was too thin

;-)

For those who don't recognize the reference, you can find that one as Book Of Longing at Heck Of A Guy (also in his TOLCA1 archive).

Thanks- interesting. They sound like much earlier songs than 2006. I wonder if LC still plans to use versions of them in a future album?

Might have been some writer's block in the 70's or 80's, and associated with an exploration of old prayers, I think, but --I can't forget but I don't remember what.
