I've split the original Bench Update Thread into two.
The tongue-in-cheek messages are in this thread.

We want to keep the Update more or less matter-of-fact
--- it is monitored by the Hydra & Athens authorities,
and we don't want to confuse the decision makers in these
decisive moments.

Very wise -and also good for those of us who are finding the joke thread quite the opposite of matter of fact - perhaps just a little surreal
