The ending of Samson In New Orleans

Postby jerry » Sun Sep 21, 2014 4:37 am

The ending of Samson In New Orleans sounds like it's cut off. It ends so suddenly. It just sounds like it should have faded out instead of such a jarring ending.

Am I the only one that feels that the ending to this song was chopped off?

It just stops. What's wrong with that?
Several of the other tracks fade out.
That's fine too.

Perhaps it's the silent sound, of the pillars crashing down .... :)

I don't really see this as being cut off.

Musically, the song completes. It goes through its form with the first four verses, then two verses that are almost a refrain with the "take this temple down", then breaks for an instrumental, and comes back in with another four verses, and completes the instrumental phrase again.

All phrases are completed, so it doesn't really feel like a cut off to me.
