Leonard singing "O Christmas Tree" ("O Tannenbaum")

Post by Hartmut » Wed Dec 16, 2020 8:38 pm

In my ongoing effort to make this a tradition: Here's Leonard singing "O Tannenbaum" ("O Christmas Tree").

(Based, of course, on a few lines of the song "Non, je ne regrette rien" he sang during a TV interview.)

Ha Ha, Hartmut,
You must be on my wave length or I'm on yours ;-)
Yesterday I was singing this song in German and I thought of you posting it soon - absolutely true story!
I was also singing Stille Nacht.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to B4real ~ me

Glad to hear that, Bev!

I didn't know that you speak (or at least sing) German. Frohe Weihnachtszeit also!

Ah Hartmut,
I learnt German and French at high school and only remember a little of both languages but I do have good intentions to upgrade my vocabulary with them. My language books have been sitting on the table for some months now unopened (Andrew would have seen them when he visited me recently) and I’m taking this as a sign it’s time to do so. Let it be my New Year resolution!

I really like singing both those songs in German because of how the words flow in that language for them. Plus they were first written and sung in it so it’s good to honour that tradition.

And speaking of New Year, I will also add Frohes Neues Jahr to one and all!

These are good reasons.

I'm impressed by the school system down under and/or by you!
