Thanks to Tom Sakic for all the information!Maja Posavec (born 1983) is Croatian theatre actress and singer. She appeared in stage productions of Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb and Theater Ulysses (Brijuni), and since 2011 she is the ensemble member of Comedy Theater Kerempuh in Zagreb. In 2006-2016 she was the lead singer of popular band Detour. In 2018 she released first solo album.
Ivan Kapec (1970) is internationally recognised Croatian jazz guitarist and composer. He released a number of LPs with his Ivan Kapec Trio, and as well under the name Capisconne, and in collaborative projects Loop Chamber Music, TrianguliZona, Kozmodrum, Sunrise Sessions and Sonic Diptych.
Project "Večer s Cohenom", with Maja Posavec singing and Ivan Kapec on jazz guitar, started as series of tribute concerts to Leonard Cohen's music and poetry in 2017 in jazz club SAX! After great success, the shows were later performed at Summer open air stages and in leading theatres across the country, and even two times in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and included reading of Cohen's poetry (from Lijek za ljubav, selection of Cohen's poems in translation by Damir Šodan) between the songs which were all performed in English. The CD, released in December 2019, brings selection of songs performed and recorded in the studio.
Damir Šodan, Croatian poet and translator of the Book of Longing, selected poems, and The Flame, wrote booklet note. Maja Posavec's vocal interpretations were influenced, according to her own words, by Jennifer Warnes' Famous Blue Raincoat 1987 album.
