I enjoyed reading the tweets Helen. They are spread out, but quick to read, and fun. Thanks for going to the trouble. Appreciated.

Thanks for sharing the tweets Helen, they offer another perspective, which is always a good thing.

Of course, I love reading the traditional concert reports etc but twitter is a brilliant medium for
capturing immediacy, distilling the moment and conveying excitement etc After all, we live in the
age of twitter.

Just seen a couple of the videos. Beautiful. It strikes me that Leonard is getting "younger" as the
years go by. Clearly, the Gods love him!

Well said, Wendy. I hope you will write a more detailed report later, when you have time. I enjoy reading "real" reports from those who were actually there. Those who want tweets know where to find them.

Helen, you already have TWO threads full of tweets in the Comments section - surely that's enough?
Ring the bells that still can ring...

I’ve been a Cohen fan for many years but last night was the first time I’d ever seen Leonard live in concert, and the only way to describe it was Almost Spiritual… we were lucky enough to have good seats and the whole experience was amazing. The atmosphere was electric and the audience was both appreciative and respectful. Leonards performance was faultless and you could see he was having fun, as were the entire audience. The music and his hypnotic voice took you to a higher place.
Sharon, The Webb Sisters and the band were also wonderful and Sharons rendition of Alexandra Leaving was simply beautiful.
It was one of the best evenings of my life and I was lucky enough to share the experience with someone I love very much…. Just counting the days now till September 14th!

Thank You Mr Cohen…

As usual great concert. Were does he get his energy from?
I have seen Leonard 6 times in the UK now, but I have a question for those who have seen him in Europe.

I saw him in New York Radio City and the following did not apply there.

Every concert here there is a constant flow of people who cannot go an hour or so without a beer.
A poor old couple on the end of the row in front of me were up and down like yo-yos to let people past maybe a dozen times.
I know they keep the bar open to make money, but theatres don't.
Does this happen abroad or is it just the English that seem only to go for the sit down and drink, because they certainly don't mind missing Leonard. Then later they have to go again because the beer makes them want to pee.
I saw someone walking down the aisle with a full meal on a plate.
Also I hope Leonard did not notice too much how many people left well before the end. I suppose transport comes into that. Couple in front of me left at half time.
Is this the same abroad too?
Somebody must have died for you

I understand Wendy very well, but I want to express support to Helen. I prefered the old style of reporting: first post is about the venue (who needs O2 London being introduced, that's another question ;-) ), then everything else. But those days are gone (as far as I remember, there were voices against those venue-related posts too).

Tweets are like impressionist brush strokes. You may see a wonderful picture - if you make a step behind and concentrate. Some of them are funny or even informative. (BTW, I should confess: I dislike Twitter on emotional level.)

Just one example from this thread. I'm a Russian, my English is reasonably good (as for Russians), but I'm almost sure I wouldn't catch the phrase "Lighten up, Cohen" from the intro to Ain't No Cure for Love, without reading it in Helen's compilation. So, this tweet + Maarten's video from Paris = I got it, I laughed, I shared it with my compatriots (with a translation of this catchphrase). That's how well it works sometimes.

Helen, maybe it's a good idea to renew the conception: to exclude standart OMG-tweets, to replace individual quote brackets by one big quote bracket (will save some space)... Anyway, thanks!
