Ireland

At the beginning of the 2013 Tour and the announcement of the various European dates I was confident that some dates for Ireland would be announced. As we are now into March and no announcements have been made and further - now that this flu has struck the Band I am less certain of a visit by Leonard to Ireland this year. Seems unthinkable but now very probable :(

Thank you, Paul Zagreb fro bringing amcgee's thread to my notice. I missed that. Given Jarkko's reply it looks like he won't be in Ireland this year

Look on the bright side: all the money saved. Still, I'd rather spend the money than spend the summer without an LC concert. Maybe we could get up a petition. Would you deliver it Jarkko?

So we are being bypassed this year. Has anyone any ideas why we were overlooked? Was Leonard asked to play outdoors again? Was the reception not good enough last time? Questions, question, questions. Has anyone got an answer?

It's touching that you think decisions are being made on the basis of who "deserves" a show, or who gave the best reception.... this is business. AEG will invite offers from promoters, based on particular criteria.... on this occasion, I think it's well documented that indoor shows are strongly preferred; so, they'll be looking for offers for indoor venues, of a certain size. Once they get the offers, then logistics (and money) come into play, in creating a viable tour.... so, either AEG didn't get offers from Ireland (maybe because of the dearth of large indoor venues?), or the ones they got didn't fit in terms of money or logistics.... simple. sorry.

I'd still like an explanation. Tickets here are much more expensive than in some other countries and the Point can accommodate around eleven thousand. GB is next door, so the logistics don't really explain it. Any other (conspiracy) theories anyone? On the bright side, I am saving a lot of money.

How about this?

Several shows in 2008
Several shows in 2009
Several shows in 2010
Several shows in 2012

Seems to sum up the situation quite well. Those who live in Ireland live in an Island. Talking of Islands I could do with an explanation as to why the UK tour has not yet been announced and why he does not tour here enough considering we are an English speaking country. Only Joking albeit frustrated.

well, I guess none of the promoters in Ireland made an offer, or at any rate not a good enough offer..... keep looking for your conspiracy theory if you must, but I'd respectfully suggest you won't find one....

Keep an eye out tomorrow Thursday 25th - Line up for Electric Picnic will be announced - so what, you might say? Well John Reynolds has booked LC in past few years here in Ireland. 2013 is the 10th anniv of EP.
When you put all that together, I wouldn't be surprised if LC will be announced as one of the star acts....

Takes place Fri Aug 30th - Sun Sept 1st. Those dates would fit in as an addition to a UK tour - there seems to be
a gap in schedule in mid Aug - mid Sept?

Lets pray for another "gathering"!
