"Joan of Arc": 1971, 1993, and 2012

Post by Hartmut »

In 1429 Jeanne d’Arc – Joan of Arc, the Maid of Orléans – does all sorts of interesting things.
On 20 December 1908 she is beatified by Pope Pius X. And on 16 May 1920 canonised by Pope Benedict XV.
Only 51 years later (1971) Leonard Cohen releases his song "Joan of Arc", which may have something to do with her.
On 25 May 1993 I hear this song for the first and only time live (in Berlin).
On 12 November 2012 he plays it for the last time in a concert (in Vancouver).

On 2nd December 2012, Soundcheck, Québec City, Canada, he has:

No man to keep her armour bright,
no moon to get her through this dark, this very smoky night

Released on "Can't Forget", 2015.

Yes, I was thinking of these lines with the swapped words as well yesterday.
