It was cold indeed. Talking about that - during the break I went for a coffee and found a very slow coffee machine in a little cart. It took about 20 minutes to get it, could only help max 2 cups at the time. Good coffee, but not a very smooth solution. What I did like about the Hockey Park is they sold fleece blankets. We weren't cold at all.

Apart from all that I thought it was a very good concert. The vocals were brilliant.

I Can't Forget
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT5QUcjG03w

VIdeo is not up close but there is a view and the audio is okay -
Also - it is the only video I have seen for this song at this show -
But further - as Harriet175 notes in her concert report above - Leonard ad libs a bit adding some local colour (thanks Harriet)
Maybe someone else can clarify exactly what he says - but with Harriet's remembrance - and from listening - it goes something like this ...

@3:24 - “I think it was here, a guy used to play football against this little town...(.no sir?.) maybe it was field hockey..(_____?). i’m thinking - I'm thinking of somebody else - I don't know anymore:D

I just watched/listened to a video of this song from the Aalborg show and Leonard again ad libs and the audience applauds - and I am guessing that it is something with local colour.

I will post the video in the Aalborg thread - if I can remember where I saw it - uhhhh - ah I just don't know anymore ...

...
...Mönchengladbach - 'Mönch' is 'monk' in engl. (which makes the city name ring nicer)

Being a long time fan with some 60 LC concerts -first one in 1974 I like to add a comment for Berlin / Gladbach.
First of all , I was glad to see Mr Cohen healthy and in a good shape.

However ,that whole OpenAir Stuff did not work well with me I dont blame Mr Cohen but his Management to plan so many
open air . These were the first concerts I have seen, where the end of the show was beyond Cohens control.
At least for me ,this is not acceptable and took away a lot of joy from that beautiful Berlin concert.
No need to talk about the Hockey Park ,one of the worst venues , I have ever been too.

Maybe it would have been wise to inform the audience before the show, that it has to end 2300 sharp !!!!
Or would have started at 1900 !!!!!

The atmosphere in decent halls is a whole lot better and much more formal......

I try to catch a single ticket for Paris Olympia.

Hopefully next years tour stays away from stadium shows.
Of course were great highlights in the shows, but setlists these days are very predictable.

It was a good concert - Leonard and the musicians were excellent.
Around me, every one was enjoying the concert - nobody was eating or talking.
It felt really sad for all the people who came late because of the accident on the highway and I don't think that it is fair to blame them.

Apart from the early curfew, which was really disappointing, it was a huge problem to get away from the seating area because there was only one real exit. We just arrived at the recreation area, when the second part started. Even with rushing back to our seats, we just made it in time - so I didn't wonder that so many people still were looking for their seats while Leonard was already singing the first song of the second part. So again - it's not right to blame the people, but the organizer in Mönchengladbach.
