Marco, confess, did you think about Leonard Cohen the Diskobolus too?

Great performance and recording!

What is he reciting - it is not Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold?

It's again (first time it was in Moscow, pre-Darkness recitation) - "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invictus
This time - not a complete poem, just first two stanzas:
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Words "winced nor" are missed, I suppose.

Thanks, Roman. Is there a recording of Moscow (I still hope for it!).

I Can't Forget has a completely new meaning on this tour, methinks. It is the song about tour, meeting old friends (fans), and the winter of life - but a lot goes on forever (the songs, the work, the companionship). It is his paean.

Watching at the Amsterdam setlist, I think it would be better if I Can't Forget is continued immediately by Waiting for the Miracle::))

Surely, you ;-)
But talking about wikipedia - I'm going to keep this list updated. Were there any recitations in 2012, besides those during I Can't Forget (Dover Beach; Chante rossignol; Invictus)?

Both concerts were fabulous. Mr. Cohen was very relaxed and he enjoyed very responsive
audience, esp. the second night.

LC: ..."it's closing time"....
Audience: "NO,NO, NO!" (just as Amy Winehouse in Rehab)

I couldn't find it recorded, maybe our Sir. Albert?!?

what can you say.....words aren't enough....sooooooo BEAUTIFUL!!!!

My friend Bonni who was raised in Canada and has lived in Amsterdam since she was 18 sent this to me last night.
She has never seen Leonard before and is not a member of the forum. She attended the first night in Amsterdam.
It touched me so much I had to share it with all of you.

A review in a Dutch music-paper, with nice pictures for the people who don't understand the Dutch language.
