New York AND Montreal?

Postby margaret » Sun Jul 13, 2003 2:36 pm

I read somewhere recently that Montreal is only 400 miles from New York. As someone coming quite a distance to New York next summer I wondered how easy it would be to visit Montreal also for a few days within the same trip.

Can anyone give any ideas on transport links etc?

Hi Margaret,

Good question! There may be others who would like to visit Montreal after or before the New York Event. Perhaps there could be a excursion trip among those interested.

Margaret & Coco....it is quite easy to go to Montreal. There is a regular bus service (about 10 each day, I think). It costs $70-75 one-way and takes 7-8 hours. However, it may be more convenient to get a rental car from one of the numerous rental companies (Avis, Hertz etc etc)....usually unlimited mileage.

Great idea, Margaret! I'd plan for joining in on that excursion, though I'd probably just keep on driving down into Michigan [or to New York] depending on whether it came before or after.

Thanks for the information Kush,

I'll do a bit more research between now and next summer so I can put a travel plan together, maybe flying into New York then back to the UK from Montreal, or the other way around.
