Just saw a news report that Chris Darrow of the 60's band Kaleidoscope passed away on January 15th. Darrow played bass on Leonard's debut album. In an interview with Darrow in 2009 (link below) he explains how Kaleidoscope came to be recruited by Leonard in 1967 to play on the album. He also tells how when he was living near Mount Baldy in the late 90's he ran into Leonard and when he asked him if he remembered him, Leonard said "Of course!, you saved my life.".
