Tickets are also available on Seetickets and Ticketmaster. When I called the box office at the Bloomsbury they told me that they are not selling tickets directly for this one and pointed me in the direction of Seetickets. However the best tickets seem to have been put in the hands of Ticketmaster as I bought a front row ticket via http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/2200464AD5BF8364 about 10 minutes ago. I will decide some time between now and mid May whether it's worth the petrol money for the trip to London.

Wendy,

I'm not sure how much Petrol i'd have to put in an Airplane...but to me, a tank full would be money well spent, if it gets me to Bloomsbury on May 15th.

Hope to see you there .

Well, it now costs me £75-£80 to fill my car up so it's quite possible it will cost you less for a couple of return flights on Ryanair and a night in a Travelodge! Still, the prospect of a mini-reunion is a powerful incentive for me to make the investment.

Here's an update on the Bloomsbury Theatre ticket situation, from my research today. The theatre itself isn't selling tickets at present, and the staff have no idea if or when tickets will go on sale. (As of this evening)Ticketline are offering central tickets in row L, See Tickets are offering Row I at the side, and Ticketmaster have been offering row A (surpisingly, TicketWEB, aren't involved!). I reluctantly opted for Ticketmaster, though my ideal choice would have been central, a few rows back. Ticketmaster kept offering the end of the row, but after numerous attempts, I managed to get a single seat (A7). Now...and wait for it...not only are Ticketmaster charging a handling fee, they're also charging nearly six quid for postage, and suggesting insurance on top of this! Hence you pay almost as much in extra charges as Green Note were initially charging for their tickets. In conclusion, I suspect that the tickets currently available may be presale, and that those who wait may get the better deal.

Has anyone else any new info to add to my post above? I'd like to be able to keep friends informed on how to obtain the best tickets for the concert/album launch.

John

See my first post above. Like you, I was told by the box office at the Bloomsbury that they are not handling tickets for this show. I have no idea why not but that seems to be the way it is. We are therefore in the hands of the ticket agents, all of whom load their prices with handling fees and postage costs. There is no suggestion anywhere that there is any pre-sale. All the agencies charge handling fees and postage costs though Ticketmaster charge more for "secure" postage. Total price for 2 tickets (incl UK postage) is £41.85 at Seetickets and Ticketline and £46.20 at Ticketmaster.

I think the message is clear: if you want good seats, then Ticketmaster is the place to go as they seem to be the main agents, though you will pay a premium of just over £4 for the privilege (and secure postage). However, if you don't mind sitting at the back, you can go to the other agents and save a few pounds. Of course, if you want to play brinkmanship you could hang on and see if the Bloomsbury do start to sell the tickets themselves at a future date. However, there is no suggestion this will happen at present.

Happy Valentines Day!
For those coming to our Bloomsbury Theatre concert in May, here's some info we've discovered:
Ticketmaster add a booking fee and a £5 delivery fee aswell.
Seetickets seem cheaper with only a £2 fee.
For those of you who prefer to speak to a 'human' on the telephone here's the... best number to call for Seetickets:
0115 912 9000
Cheers all.

The information from Facebook is incomplete as Seetickets also add a handling (= postage) fee. See above for total costs.

This a small theatre, about 500 seats ,only 14 rows in the stalls and 5 in the circle, from memory all seats are tiered, giving a good view from all seats,
no need to worry about sitting near the front.

Wendy - The £5.60 postal fee (+ suggested insurance) appears to be Ticketmaster's latest scam. If you're allocated numbered seats, there is usually no need for secure postage, as tickets can easily be reprinted. In the case of free seating or standing, it's another matter. How much better are wegottickets, who let you print your own! If the Webb tickets on sale are not presale, then I suspect that the agencies are selling the lesser tickets first, as is often the case (even row A is not everyone's favourite).

John J - it's true that you can still see something wherever you sit in the Bloomsbury. I was centre back stalls for (another Webb) Jimmy Webb, and it was still pretty good. That said, I still believe in the first come, first served principle. I much prefer the system that The Southbank and Barbican use, where you can choose the seats of your preference online. God only knows why a small theatre like The Bloomsbury needs to use agencies, especially when they have their own box-office!
