Beatiful montage fan-made video for Come Healing
Re: Beatiful montage fan-made video for Come Healing
Yes, Tom I would say that you are right. I wonder if she (I think it is a female) is a forum member!
As well as showing parts of his life's journey, it's effective also because of the close-ups of Leonard's eyes which tell the story without words.
The only clip I didn't like was the one with Anthony in. But I loved the ending when Leonard in his perfectly tailored suit got his trousers accidentially wet from the waves!

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to B4real ~ me

Well, I don't know... I found the link in comments on Christian blog, under this deep and superb (Christian) review of Old Ideas: http://www.wordonfire.org/WoF-Blog/WoF- ... o-Die.aspx The person who linked the clip said "we made it" and linked this (Christian) review of Old Ideas: http://www.bywayofbeauty.com/2012/02/ha ... cohen.html Also some great writing there as well, & deep understanding.B4real wrote:Yes, Tom I would say that you are right. I like the spiritual undertone of the montage clip: it starts with young Leonard, and ends with happy old Leonard focusing all the time on his eyes as "windows of the soul".Matthew
Fantastic review Father Damian!
We also posted a review of this album on our site (click "Matthew") and were very impressed and moved by it - especially, like you, by the song "Come Healing." We loved the lyrics so much, we made a music video to accompany it:

Cohen has always had the most profound lyrics - if listeners can crack the jarring husk of the flat audio mix and scraggly, sometimes off-tune vocals, there are invaluable treasures in the poetry beneath - and certainly profound religious meditations.

From these two links and clips, I'd say that Old Ideas is receiving great attention in Christian circles. Reminds me on Mt Baldy's Zen monks comment on Ten New Songs - one listening is worth of one meditation session!
Another comment on the blog links to this digital painting of Christ being made to the music of Amen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0VLPSr_0_0
