I avoided this yesterday as I wanted to wait until this morning and when I got my CD to enjoy it and the music together and not be spoiled before hand. Isn't it just amazing!!! Just finished my first entire listen and I feeling emotional after been taken on a wonderful journey with caressing melodies and as always from The Master sublime lyrics. Loving the images in the booklet and especially love the words on the back page!

I am SOOOO envious Gwen! I wish I had the CD in my hands. All my pre-orders have been despatched but I won't get to see the real thing until I get home on Feb 6 - unless of course I succumb and buy another copy at the HMV just round the corner from my hotel ......

This was my reasoning why I didn't pre-order as I knew even before it was announced we would get it in record shops early in Ireland and that I wouldn't be able to wait for any pre-order to arrive. I was outside HMV in the next town this morning before it opened but that was because I didn't realise the lazy b.......... don't open til 9.30am. The instant the door opened I spotted it in prime position grabbed it and went up to pay and I was shaking much to the amusement of the staff. I explained I had been waiting a long time for this release. I then made it down to the bus stop with seconds to spare to get the next bus home and was listening to it before 10am. On my third listen now

Good luck with resisting temptation to walk into HMV to get it

Know how you feel, Gwen - thanks to Golden Discs Clonmel I now have my treasured cd. However, in deference to those who have not yet shared this joy I will say no more until it is generally available. ( Couldn't agree more with you about that, Mutti. )

Particularly upset to see that Tomsakic in Croatia might have to wait until NEXT Friday for his! If anyone deserves a copy on release day, if not a complimentary copy, courtesy of LC / the Forum / Sony or somebody for services to Leonard Land, Tomsakic does!

According to emails, the CD has been on sale in Germany since Wednesday, in Norway since this (Friday) morning, and the first record shops in Finland got it yesterday (official release date here is Feb 1)

Just picked up the album and reading the credits. My favourite musical moment on the entire work-the trumpet solo in Amen- doesn't appear to be credited! Unless it is part of the "arranged, programmed and played the basic tracks" reference attributed to Leonard himself? Doesn't feel right. Surely it's not some computer programmed sample but is a real piece played by a real musician. Whoever it is, they deserve to be celebrated!

And interesting that The Webbs only appear on The Darkness. Plenty of reviews seemed to have assumed they were on multiple tracks. I thought it was them on Come Healing but if the credits are to be believed that's Dana Glover alone.
