Hi,
Perhaps if I searched some more I'd find this interview in the forum, and apologies if it is. I've just come across what I think is a great interview with Perla. Really worth spending your time with, I hope.

Interview: Perla Batalla about Leonard Cohen
Re: Interview: Perla Batalla about Leonard Cohen
Thanks merton,
I hadn't seen that interview before. I also did a search and couldn't find it in the Related Artists Section or anywhere else here on the forum. It appears that Perla's almost Leonard's No 1 fan
And I couldn't help but notice she's wearing the Unified Hearts symbol as her necklace. Love that!
btw - Nice to see you are still around here

Hi merton,
Many thanks for posting this link. I really enjoyed watching the interview and listening to Perla's memories and thoughtful opinions.
IMHO she and Julie were the best ever backing singers that Leonard had. Sadly I never saw them live, only on recordings. Their version of Anthem on Leonard Cohen - I'm Your Man sends shivers up my spine every time I listen to it.
I look forward to her (and others) being able to tour again and maybe even seeing her perform in Oz.
Her album Bird on the Wire - The Songs of Leonard Cohen just nudges Jennifer Warnes' Famous Blue Raincoat for the best LC cover album I have heard.
