Looking for a song or poem

Post by Netgeogates »

Hello people

I'm currently writing a book and want to include a piece of a song or poetry from L. Cohen that I read many years ago. Problem is, I can't remember what it was, if somebody could help me refer to the title that would be very much appreciated.

I'll do my best to describe what it was about but honestly I have no clue :?: so this will be for the experts really.

I think Leonard was describing reality and how someone could verse with reality from aside without deviating from it and yet still being an analogy of the real, thus not being equal to it but still analogues identical or "true" to it. I remember him talking about "someone tracing the lines/grooves/cracks with his finger, always true to it and with much fidelity.

That's about the best description I can give you, I would be eternally grateful if someone can link this to one of his works. Thank you very much.

My favorite poem is "Music Is Everything":

Music travels all around my body.
Now I can say it's living right through me.
Listening to music puts me in a good mood;
It makes me want to stand up and start to groove.

Music can make me forget all of my pain.
It brings out the sun when I can only see the rain.
I put on my headphones and play all of my songs.
I could listen to it all day long.

Music takes me to another place,
Higher than the sky and far away from the space.
There's nothing to compare to it in the whole world.
It wouldn't even be better than my favorite girl.

Music can teach you many lessons,
Like stand up for your rights and all the good reasons.
I know there are people who think the same way
Because they know music lives in us every day.
