Hi,
I'm new to the site. Can anyone tell me whereabouts on Clinton street it was that Leonard Cohen lived. The number of the property.
Thanks
John

Hi John, welcome to the forum!
Sorry, I don't know the specific address. From my Harry Rasky's book I can give you Leonard's actual words, "I finished the lyrics for that song (Famous Blue Raincoat) in a loft on Clinton Street....I began the melody for that song in 1968....In the early seventies I was living with Marianna in a loft on Stanton Street......"
Seems he did live in loft at 179 Stanton Street, New York - I haven't checked to see how far apart they are but I know someone who did

Seems his actual (Famous) Blue Raincoat was stolen from there.

I hope this is a little helpful for you!

179 Stanton is around the corner from Clinton St. I'd always thought the loft was on Clinton St until B4's comment above - thanks B4!
