A Question for Sharon Robinson

Post by rnielsen »

If one evening without warning you went all Star Spangled Banner Diva on the last note of Alexandra Leaving who would be the first person in the band to start cracking up ? Who would give you the stink eye ?

I've been thinking that she used to hold her final note longer than she does now.

Lizzy I think she does still hold the note but the enthusiasm of the crowds with applause, standing ovations and loud cheering
seems to block it out. It would be nice if it all started after she finished...but the performance is so beautiful it is hard to hold back. :D

You might be right, mutti, but I really do focus on that final note... and it does seem to be more contained and shorter than when I first heard her do it.
You're deffo right on the clapping and hollering  . It's such a magic moment, and then therrrrrrrrrrre it goooooooesss... CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!!! All but obliterated.

I'm glad to see that that's your perception, too, though, Hartmut.

Lizzy, what I meant was: Didn't we all use to hold our final note longer than we do now?

I can still last as long as I did before.

I'll delete it myself.
Then I'll come to Holland, Belgium etc and introduce you to humour...
