Your Question Would Be?

Post by Steven »

What would you ask Leonard Cohen if you had the opportunity to ask him one question?

If you had it all to do again - what, in your life, would you want to change and what would you be happy to keep the same?
(Has the 'dark' been worth the 'light' in your life?)

My life has certainly been enhanced by the music, the lyrics and the poetry you have given to the world!

My question would be: "Leonard, what would you like to talk about?" That way, he can decide what he wants to share with me.

I like Lisa's question, too.

Okay, one question... If/when your fans claim to love you, do you believe them?

Could you ever believe again that a single line from a Chinese poem could change forever how blossoms fell, and that the moon itself rose on the grief of concise, weeping men to journey over cups of wine? That invasions were begun for a crow to pick a skeleton, and dynasties sown and spent to serve the language of a fine lament? Or that Governors ended their lives as sweetly as drunken monks, telling time by rain and candles, instructed by the passage of an insects pilgrimage across the page? All this so one could write an exile's perfect letter to an ancient, hometown friend?

My answer once before to this was, "may I kiss your cheek?" and realistically that's probably about as brave as I would get ... but say we were stuck waiting together for some weird reason and there was time and perhaps we having a coffee or tea, I would most like to ask about a friend of his Irving Layton. I'm curious what he was like away from camera's - was he actually shy, could he be silly, was he stubborn ... did they write in similar ways or a differently (I mean - at a desk.. in the morning - that type of thing)

There are some very funny and interesting questions here. Love yours Bev. :D  ;-)
I think I would ask Leonard which years of his touring were the most satisfying. The early, middle or the last. :?:
