It is morning here where I am on the East Coast of the USA - but in Moscow it is late afternoon -

The venue is State Kremlin Palace.

Formerly the Palace of Congresses - it is is now Moscow's biggest and most "prestigious" concert hall, as well as playing host to large official functions and events.

Located inside Moscow's historic Kremlin, the State Kremlin Palace is a venue for concerts, ballet, and opera performances. Built in 1961, it was originally conceived as a venue for governmental gatherings. Today, the space is home to the Kremlin Ballet and often used for concerts, and while the Bolshoi Theatre is under renovation it serves as the temporary home for the Bolshoi Ballet. The vast auditorium can seat up to 6,000, making it the largest concert hall in Russia.
Joey has some beautiful pictures of the sites in Moscow on Notes From The Road -

BAH!!! HUMBUG!!!
“No Pictures!!”
The very stern and strict Kremlin house security have decreed very loudly that “there is to be no photos during the show…”

Is that for the local promoter to decide? I always found it very charming that people were allowed to take pictures during the recent tour and I had the impression that the tour management has the policy that taking pictures was allowed.
I hope that the russians have their creative ways to sneak their cameras in...

At $1200 to $1500 USD for orchestra seats it's not surprising! That's the main reason I couldn't go, but not much seems to have changed in Russia since I was last there.

Well, I wasn't particularly surprised by those prices, but it seems like people didn't want to pay that much. It's still very upsetting + this doesn't sound like a great experience after all.
